  1. purpose of the request? Well, like I stated in opening post, knowing where a toon stands in relation to possible enemies would help while touring, if faction IS a factor in build and analyze percentages people would be interested to know what stations to go to and what stations to avoid when building or analyzing, personally I like to know how close a "yellow" faction is to turning "red" and start firing at me

  2. back to the subject of seeing the other factions... and I suppose a shameless *bump* for this post. If the hidden factions can't be shown in game can they be listed in a faction tab on the character information sheet on Net-7.org? That shouldn't be too hard right?

What if it were possible to "spend" faction points in order to map opposing faction related items (ie: a JS wants to map a Progen reactor he'd have to lose a certain amount of faction from all three Progen classes). We have ways to gain faction through space suits, gene-maps, and whatever, but what good does having +9999 faction do really? We'd still be unable to access starter areas (for a reason) and once you're "green" with another faction you're pretty much safe from ever being shot at by them unless you go on a murderous rampage. I'm sure someone has thought of something similar to this before, but I haven't been able to find it on the forums

When "touring" a fresh character I just made, my JE will usually start with a VT wh and gets VG done before the new character gets to lvl 10 and potentially starts gaining xp debt, same could be said for other "danger zones" if you want to take them to Coop or Antares before they get to OL 10. Aside from that, I usually go gate to gate, stopping at stations along the way so they can register in case they get incapacitated the rest is up to them to discover on their own.

    I do have a question though, my roommate also plays the game (though I'm not sure he has enough posts to vote or not) if he happens to vote for the same person I did would that be seen in the database as me voting twice? We do have separate accounts and his is not linked to my email or forum account.

    I'm ashamed to admit he is in the same guild as me. I too have been injured to the point where I cannot work and found that remark hurtful and unnecessary. At this point I have placed this guildmate on my ignore list (something I swore long ago never to do) and intend to discuss the matter with the guild leader.

    He almost had my vote too Mimir, now I'm definitely voting for my other guildmate that's running.

I know the DEVs have added new factions that were not in Live (Terran Alliance and Progen Combine for example) and the faction page of character info only shows so many, is there a way to put in a / command so players can check their standing with the factions not shown, ie: Mordana or Glenn Commission? Maybe put the info in the computer message window. Granted, Glenn Commission isn't a big player but [i]if[/i] faction has anything to do with chances to analyze or plays a part in achieving better build percentages it'd be good info to have. In the case of Mordana, my JE's yellow with them but if I took my brand new TS to the Mordana Tabernacle would the TS be instakilled? I don't know, that faction's not shown.

    This is not a complaint, merely a question and/or suggestion if the / command is possible.

    While I generally agree with your post I have to point out that I disagree with the quoted part of your post, currently I am unemployed with a broken neck, Social Security says I'm not disabled (can do light work but not previous employment that included gas station attendant and Subway sandwich shop), no-one wants to hire me (one HR person actually told me he was concerned about "Workers Compensation issues"), my ONLY source of income is donating plasma which nets me a whopping $60 a week with which I have bills to pay. Yes I wear the Donators tag but that's because I managed to get in a $5 donation a few months ago, but so far that has proven to be a very rare event.

    that's all well and good for now, but aren't pop rocks eventually going to be like Live's ones, where they looked exactly like the rest of the surrounding roids. Those that ONLY mine pop rocks will be kinda lost if/when that happens, right?

    I read somewhere about a Gravitic Shear somewhere in Xipe, where? I could possibly see it near the Continuum Wrinkle, but isn't that also where the Oni Raid is supposed to go? Let's add an enviromental effect to a place where high level players are going to be raiding so they'll need the TS's Null Factor constantly and lag up the whole sector, yeah! If I'm wrong about the location tell me, I honestly don't go to Xipe that much anymore anyway.

    But then there's the new gravity wells in ABB and Jupiter (okay, Jupiter kinda makes sense being around the RD Outpost but it certainly changes touring new Jenquai there). The ABB gravity well set almost centered on Lower Saturn Nav 3 is ridiculous, why are there nav points going through it? MOST nav points (with a few exceptions) are ways AROUND the grav wells, Deneb Path navs in Lagarto as an example, so people can get up and get a drink or go to the bathroom or whatever while they're warping. Don't get me wrong I like that RD's can now attempt to hijack your ship and all, but is that really the best location for that trap? As it stands it has become yet another sector I avoid like the plague.

    On another matter, if I was wrong about how the Devs stated how the BB ammo and gun might be taken away, I apologize, I was misinformed. I do TRY to read every post on the boards, but sometimes they seem to run together or repeat what was said and I probably missed Kyp's earlier explanation.

    As for bringing up Marco's emulator, once again I must apologize, I do get a little hot headed at times and it turns out it was an empty threat anyway since that went belly up rather quickly (as posted by Slayerman)

    Gravitic Shears and Gravity wells where they weren't in Live (what happened to Live-like?) and now Devs threatening to remove items from game and build lists?

    Anyone know if Marco's emulator is still up and running and, if so, where I can find it?

    have to agree with everyone, great site, have noticed however that Looter's Hovel in Jupiter and Kassina's Reward in Akeron's Gate are missing on your maps. keep up the good work :)

    heh, that's what I meant, I use alt tab usually too, the switch to button was just for when the mouse hangs in the upper left corner :)

I admit I don't know much when it comes to real life armaments, but I vaguely remember in The Hunt for Red October the torpedoes had a minimum firing range before they armed themselves (which could be removed at great risk to the ship firing them) if the torp hit before it armed itself it would just bounce off the hull with no real damage. Granted, that example's based on fiction (by one of the best writers I've ever read), AND we're talking missiles instead of torpedoes, but perhaps we could have some input from someone who's worked with missiles in real life? Nothing classified should be revealed of course, but some input on if missiles would have a min/max range. If we're going to implement the forward kiting ability would this logic apply to player missile users too (though most player missile users would prefer to remain at max range anyway, some mobs are equipped with beams and get up close and personal)?

    I'm in no way saying it's a bad idea, being a mainly Jenquai player I like it, but if MLs suddenly got a min/max range some players might not be too happy with the game

    something one of my guildmates told me and it's worked for me so far, in the task manager use the Switch To button, works every time for me.

    I've been playing again, but have recently left the guild. In truth, the reasons are probably very silly and I don't wish to say them here. I want you to know that if/when I am able to help in anyway I will do so, but (at least for the time being) I don't think coming back to the guild is an option
