  1.

In the past, some "folks" noticed that certain fields would spawn within them a AA right after a restart. They kept this information to themselves and "exploited" it. It was an exploit because it was clearly not WAI and they took advantage of it without reporting the flaw.

Have to agree with Mattsacre on this one GHB, if it was guaranteed that there would be an AA at the same field every time there was a server restart it was NOT working as intended and those that knew about it SHOULD have reported it

  2. while playing "Let's clear the forums of unread posts."  Recently there was activity in this section of the forum and I scrolled down and there was a button "Back to The Real World"  I hated clicking that BTW.   But it got me wondering, maybe we could have a section called The Future and the DEVs could post hints of what's coming in the next patch.  Then everyone could click Back to The Future!!!

Sorry, I'm tired and my humor's just about run out for the day, just thought I'd have a little fun

  3.   Was supposed to of been a helpful idea..., though did not realize there would be that many implications. Thanks for the input. Change is probably not welcome here.

You're thinking and trying to help improve the game, can't fault you for that.  This idea may work for individuals keeping track of their own finds, but the second it gets shared it becomes everyone's and, sadly, there are people who'll take advantage of it without helping others (a part of this community I've always loved is the people helping others)

  4. the problem I would have with this is the fact that certain fields are so well known (including their spawn times) that by the time anyone gets around to them they're gone.  As an example a certain lvl 8-9 hulk field in BBW at coordinates *hack, cough, belch, loud fart* I had seen in passing before I was able to mine that lvl, but now that I'm able to mine them finding them was next to impossible because it seemed every Tom, Dick and Harry knew and camped the location.  Yes, I've found it and managed to mine the location twice, but most times it's gone, I don't complain I just move on to the next location.  Supposedly there's a lvl 9 field at Einherjar Research Platform in Niff, but I've NEVER found it because people would camp until they figured out the spawn timer.  There's a field in *belch* sector, however, that contains lvl 6-8 hulks that few people know about and is rarely mined.  If a node finder was implemented, my little field (and I do mean little, there's usually only 3-5 hulks there) would never be there for me when I get off work because everyone and their brother would be handed the location on a silver platter.

  5. while my vote was "Kind and Helpful" I have to point out that there will always be exceptions to the rule.  For instance, a couple months ago I had managed to get my hands on a full line of loot only beams, I mapped them and then offered them to someone I had seen on Market channel who was also mapping weapons.  (S)he replied "Whatever, I could kill you with one shot."  I have ignored this person's calls for assistance since, but they are still not on my "Ignore List" in game.  I will not drag that person through the mud but their calls for help will remain unheeded by me.

  6. .... and like you said not sure about the coding. +1

I can't even remember what it was I had suggested years ago before The Great Crash, but I remember Tienbau had said that coding may not have been possible, I don't know much about game engineering, but I like to use the phraseology

  7. With the addition of the Terran Scout with the Null Factor Field skill and Androzari [Under Construction], we now have 2 classes that can potentially overcome gravity wells and 2 prisons, why not put these things to use?  A Red Dragon higher up wants a certain someone out of jail, and out fast.  The player receives the mission from a RD NPC, docks at one of the two prison facilities (DCO or Androzari), talks to an NPC who happens to be a RD insider who gives the prisoner to the player and tells them to take the prisoner to QAR or Paramis, as soon as the player departs the station they become wanted!  No docking at any station except QAR or Paramis and the whole galaxy's after them (Centuriata, Collegia, EarthCorps, Hyperia, InfinitiCorps, Sabine, Sha'ha'dem, Sharim and Shinwa) become hostile temporarily.  Only speed and stealth will be the players allies.

Rewards:  Trade xp (as the Prisoner Transfer jobs were basically the basis of my idea), +++ RD faction

Drawback:  Minor hit to all player class factions

I don't know, maybe making the classes temporarily hostile might be a problem with the coding, but I think this would make for an interesting mission.  Any thoughts from Staff or players?

  8. While I believe Alurra did an awesome job, I'm also only able to play during the weekends so in my personal opinion I'd almost go with option C. (during the weekends I've seen GMs and DEVs online and they all seem to be fairly normal people who like interaction with other fairly normal people) .. however maybe more regular players believe we need a ADV in which case I'd say go with option A

  9. I apologize if this has been brought up before, but can we get a "Manufacurable By" filter on the database?  I was fleshing out my recipe book for my JS and filtered out non-manu items, but Jenquai Restricted items still popped up.  I COULD filter Usable By Jenquai Seeker, but then Progen Only, or Terran Only items wouldn't show up

  10. Immediately after Sunset I tried Eve, didn't like it.  Got on Star Wars: Galaxy, was okay with it until I lost my job and couldn't afford to play anymore.  Moved, got another job, played WoW for about 2 years, lost my job, packed all my stuff into my car and tried to start my life "anywhere but here", drove out to California, headed back east, fell asleep at the wheel, rolled my car and broke my neck.  Almost ten years later I'm working 5-6 12 hour shifts driving a cab and barely have time to do anything, but still have to get my E&B time on the weekends

  11. In previous stress tests I had gotten my JS to 150 before my JD and JE, this time around my JE is kicking the **** out of both the JD and JS and I've noticed because of this change that the JS is missing something.  Both the JE and JD have a way to regain reactor energy quickly (Shield Leech and Energy Leech respectively).  The JS does have Reactor Optimization which has the potential to recharge the reactor faster OVER TIME, but for a in your face beamer that doesn't help when the tank's nearly dry as much as an instant recharge like SL and EL do.  I've heard many times the DEVs say that such&such class needs more love, are they done with the JS or are they still planning on more to come?

    Blacklung spawned what?! -

    You asked:

Aren’t all the ‘public’ spawns just contributing to the overabundance of credits? Wouldn’t we be better suited putting these in another sector of space and selling tickets or something to create a credit sink?

    The Emu Team said:

While the guilds that have been raiding for a while might have a lot of this gear, there are still many toons that either don’t have the gear or don’t have the access to the raiding spawn points. The loot is not currently on the radar as being excessively vendored because there is too much of it.

First they shoot down my idea then decide it's worth it.  Should I ask for a commission?  :P

  13. Due to my work schedule (Five 12 hour days a week, sometimes on call during the weekends) I'm only able to play maybe 2 days a week.  I've noticed many players saying credits are worthless and I've seen BL spawn public raids frequently.  I understand and applaud BL for trying to help the player base get better gear, but all that extra loot is getting sold to vendors for credits, which may or may not be spent for vendored items, analyzing or manufacturing.  This is creating a massive influx of credits with little to none outgoing.  My solution?  Create a sector that BL can spawn his public raids, the gate requires an item (a ticket if you will) which can be bought for x amount of credits at a certain vendor.  Each player has to buy their own ticket.  This enables players to continue with BL's public raids and also begins a balancing of credits.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I honestly believe this might help.
