  1. Hi,

3- The possibility of adding a "multi-component" build button.....for those TT's tired of cranking out 240 brimstone elixers!

They wont do this, its been asked many times. It would involve a client change as such they cant do it.

Now, a slash command is doable and one which would be great. :)

    /multibuild <numItems>

But how to implement it? May be still use the terminal, have the item selected to build and away it goes after the slash command.

  2. This post is of my own personal opinion it has no reflection of the guild I am a member of, nor standing within the game or community. Now that being said, what you may read below may or may not be of your opinion or view, but please keep any replies clean and civil as I have done so.

A player advocate needs two main things really.

One, play the game as a player and experience the game at its fullest. This enables the advocate the ability to see how the game is now designed and intended by the developers and the players whose voices and suggestions have gone into it. This allows them the ability to see when things are unbalanced and in need of a voice to talk to the developers.

Two, a member of the community, a player who not looks simply at the game for him/her-self nor the guild they are a member of, but a member of the community. A community, for which the players are a majority of, but also let us not forget that the developers and the rest of the Net-7 team are a part of said community, so the advocate is a voice of the community, both the player base and the Net-7 organisation. He/She is the voice of calm and reason when things do not go as intended or when a game issue gets out of control, but also the voice suggestion and wisdom, for when either the players or the Net-7 team needs to see, understand or feel that something is amiss, going well or to pass on information and feedback.

So, can Nuggster do this? Yes I think he can, hence my vote is in his favour; he fulfils each of the above points.

1 - I do NOT believe in "change for the sake of change", the proven methods that Shadow has installed will certainly benefit whoever takes over next, he has done an outstanding job laying an amazing foundation! I may find that my way of " doing things" requires some additions to help me keep up with the level of service he has given the players, so if I need to add something I most certainly will do my best...... I guess bottom line is I won't change ANYTHING for "me".... ANY changes would only be if they would benefit the players....period

Fantastic, a person who would push for change when it was actually required, to fix something only when it was needed or to fix something that was unjustly broken or undone, not to suggest a fix simply because it would make life easier.

3 - No,I am not a "big-3" member, I have struggled at times being a "public" guy and I have to admit almost made that attempted jump a time or two for more raid time, but I sat back and decided I love the interactios I have now with ALL the players. Much like Shadow has stated, when doing advocate duties the terms "big-3" and "public" go out the window anyway!!!! This position is "Player Advocate" and like shadow has done, I want to keep that aspect the same!

You do not need to be a member of the ‘big-3’ as you have put it, nor a member of a smaller guild, but simply a player that is willing to talk to everyone in the game and not simply those in your own guild. This means you’re a true representative, representing everyone from the big-boys (who like to do everything because they can), to the little-guy in the corner simply playing solo because that’s what they prefer.

But can Unicorn…? In my opinion, no he can’t, why? I think his own words in this thread have shown us he is incapable of such a role, to be the voice of the players and of the Net-7 team; the person who will be our main conduit of information and reason, Unicorn has shown (at least in my eyes) that he simply can not fulfil the role, his easy to turn to the old fashioned and time-honoured idea of word-play. His recent posts have shown when things are not going in his favour he turns to insults and unsubstantiated claims and essentially turns into an immature individual. And I am quoting his exact words below to highlight my above claims:

I know I may not get the role. I know certain guilds have 'ordered' their guild members to vote for Nuggster.

Do you have evidence of this, and would you be willing to show us? After all the player advocate position is a position of honesty and integrity, a position that infers that the individual has no ego, no sense of self prospering but an individual who is the players representative and thus presents only true and factual evidence without a doubt or inconsistency.

I believe it is the player base who influence the devs not the advocate. The advocate is the interface joining the two parties together. The advocate passes on the thoughts and suggestions to the ENB team without prejudice. He or she acts in the best interest of the players.

Nicely said, and almost correct but, in addition to the players being those that can and do influence the developers, it is also the player advocate, who is the main voice of players, he/she who can fight on behalf of said players. Therefore, it is also the player advocate who can and does influence the developers, be it for good or ill, simply by being the voice of the players.

He/she when voicing the players will to the developers, it is the advocate who actually has to speak to the developers, this involves an emotional aspect.
For example, two people can say exactly the same thing to a third person, but if one of the individuals is more passionate and emotional during their moment, they will get a much more beneficial result, this is how the player advocate can and does influence the development team.

If anyone wants to chat I am available on TS each day, drop by and let me have your thoughts.

Would you mind if I ask a glaring and obvious question? Which TeamSpeak server do you speak of, because it’s not the Net-7 TeamSpeak server.

And which player would you be passionate for?.....The one that wants there to be a maelstrom in sector xyz or the one that does not want a maelstrom in sector xyz? By being unbiased does not mean that I do not have passion for the game or the player base. It means that I will not take sides over conflicting requests and will work for both sides equally regardless of member, members or guild. I may appear to be monotone and dry as you suggest. Others may say that it is a careful balanced approach with attention to detail with no mistakes. Carry on with your misinterpretation of my comments.....I stand for the post of advocate because I believe I can do an excellent job, no more no less.

    Uni

    No one is infallible.

Now, do not get me wrong, I imagine, in the outside ‘real world’ where we have to go to school, graduate and work for a living, and gain a family etc., Unicorn is a wonderful individual but I’m sorry… The phrases ‘First impressions count’ and ‘if you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say anything’ comes to mind when I see Unicorns posts on this player advocate election thread.

Now all that is said and done, this post is of my own personal opinion and interpretation of each and every post within this thread, please do not use this as excuse to bring my guild, or my standing within this game into question.

Now before you reply, allow me time to get changed into my flame proof underwear.

  3. It does indeed use SSL (well the game server does), and it is NOT vulnerable, yet it fails the general SSL tests, due to poor cyphers etc.

  4. Mob (object) death are not logged, nor is who fired on them.

Nor does it log when the object was spawned either, only that is exists (or does'nt).

Now that being said, a player at GM level or higher can see the mob object spawner, and can see how long it takes for an object to spawn and thus can manually force the spawn object to spawn its object (mob).

The only way it can be shown that a player is killing the object is if said player is witnessed directly, either by a player or a staff member.

*** = This is how it was in ST4 and at the time I was one of the mob devs. It might have changed since, but highly unlikely.

  5. Not trying to be a pain in the arse here, but wouldnt this be better represented by the Player Advocate, rather than a Dev getting directly involved at this stage in the game? That is after all why the advocate exists.

Personally, I like the buff effects and would prefer them to stay, but by reading the dev's post 'if others are happy with it (happy with it could mean any thing really), than this change is going to occur without the general player-base being informed about it etc, something that the advocate would make public in their respective forum, so that everyone can see this, and if required a vote could be taken.

Not that I'm saying removing it wont happen, but it should occur by the player shoudl go via the advocate (and the dev specifically, should follow Net-7 procedure, and follow this up with the player advocate) before anything is rubber stamped etc.

    Just my 2-cents.

  6. Damn it, the one of only two days that alot of us Europeans play the game due to work commitments and the game is down, potentially for several hours (or all weekend should a patch go wrong).

Mind if I ask, why is it game devs always chose to screw over the Europeans rather then the yanks when it comes to potentially dangerous patch times. We have feelings too you know.......

  7. I'd love to suggest if a single entity fullfils the entire month donation requrest they get an ingame 'Net-7' news spot from all the Net-7 beacons...

'Net-7 this month is brought to you by XYZ' in the sexy Net-7 News anchor girls voice... (now awaiting a feminised Pakrat to chime in).

  8. I do hope that Uban is as good at passing information from the devs to the player base and the player base to the devd as ShadowWalker was during his short term.

The next few weeks will so I hope :)

Now would be a good time for players to come forward and say what they want from the Advocate, which issues to discuss and so on. :)

An advocate that actually comes on to TS, and in the game and talks to the general playerbase rather than just his own guild would be an excellent start :) (Something shadow did best I think out of all the Advocates, which was his ability to relate to all the player base, and keep us mortals informed) :)

  9. Whilst not in static, I understand your rampage of words being someone who has done the same in the past...

This is all I can say on the matter.

It is a child, who runs his mouth...

But it takes a man, who realises his faults, and apologies for his inner child's actions.

    :)

Simply put, we are all adults in this game, and we all run our mouths occasionally in this game, but that said, and we are a small community... We all know each other and forgive our indiscretions…

  10. supported, lag for me is very bad at the moment, and this is only appearing server side and within the forums etc.

TS as well has become almost usable for me.

Plus it is not my end, I use a cable modem connection as well as ADSL and 3G modem, all three are laggy, and its only been 1) since the new proxy and 2) since 1&1 have been having issues.

  11. I thought that would get your attention...

I have spoken to Shadow on Facebook the other night, and he has explained that he is absent due to the fact he currently has no cable or internet at his house, and is having to use his parents internet (when he visits them) for facebook etc.

My message to him took a few days to get a response.

Now he hopes to get his internet back ASAP but as there is a problem with it, he cant guarantee how fast he will return, apart from he will.

He apologises for his unexpected absence but it is/was outside of his control.

If anyone of you would like me to pass on a mesage to him, please either reply to this post or send me a PM and I'll copy'n'paste it into a facebook message for him.

    Thanks,

  12. LOL no, never gonna happen...

Why? If you want to change your class, re-roll a new toon. Why 'cheat' your way to a maxed out TT, or TS.

This game gives the player oppotunities to build and level all classes of the game.

Plus! If you simply 'jumped' your way to a 150 TT, TE or TS you will know nothing about that class, or how it is used, worked or played.

The idea of leveling a toon is not just toi level, but also to learn the class, and its unique skillsets.
