faeriexdecay
Hi! New here. Just signed up on the forum and everything today and have been trying to play since the server came back up. =/ I've signed up and confirmed my email for both the forum and the actual game login. I can login to both sites successfully. Net7 launches successfully, E&B launches successfully, and it goes to the login screen. It says "connecting to server" and just sits there for a few seconds. Then it displays the message "connection to the global server failed" and the program closes. I've gone through and changed everything I could find in the E&B and Net7 folders to run using windows xp compatibility. I'm an admin, and UAC is turned off. Also tried having "debug launch" checked on the Net7 launcher as well, but that hasn't changed anything. I even disabled my firewall to see if that possibly had anything to do with it, but nope. No change. I hope this is the information you need: Windows Vista Home Basic 32 AMD Sempron Processor LE-1250 2.20GHz 2GB RAM Nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 All drivers are up to date as far as I know. I've remembered this game from all those years ago and thought it lost forever... until I found this! I'm so excited to play again, someone please help, lol. faeriexdecay
Wow, okay. Nevermind! The idea occurred to me to try changing E&B to run in windowed mode and turning my firewall back on so that I could hit "allow" on the firewall alert that pops up for the program attempted to launch. Now it works! I don't get why it was causing problems with my firewall off, but whatever. Seems okay now.
