  1. place wine-1.1.34 under $HOME/bin/wine-enb or something. adjust paths in script below.

    #!/bin/sh
trap "xset r; exit" INT TERM EXIT
    WINEPATH=$HOME/bin/wine-enb
    export PATH=$WINEPATH/usr/local/bin:$PATH
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$WINEPATH/usr/local/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    export WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine-enb
    cd $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/NET7/bin
    xset -r
    $WINEPATH/usr/local/bin/wine explorer.exe /desktop=enb,1680x1050 LaunchNet7.exe

you of-course need to install gdiplus, vcrun2008sp1, mono24 (or whatever those were) under new WINEPREFIX

From your answer i guess you are using EnB under WINE ?

If you manage to get it run, could you get a look at the problem(s) a few of us have in the sticky about EnB on WINE ?

And if you could run a quick how to it would be even better.

(i still don't manage to get it work and it's frustrating :D)

  2. I got a bit to far into the setup process and i made my forum account before reading to much. Can you change my FORUM login to match my display name : Boogieman?

If not please delete my account so i can start over from scratch.

And correct me if i am wrong, but is the original software required for EnB to work?

There is a link to all the downloads needed once loggued in (it's an hidden subforum).

    You need :

    - the enb client

    - the enb update patch (latest one)

    - then the NET7 launcher and point to the release/client.exe in your enb install for it to work

then patch it/update it as much as needed and you are set.

  3. Would it be worth attempting this on an Acer Aspire 5315?

    # Processor: Intel Celeron M processor 530 1.7GHz

    # Memory: 1GB

    # Graphics Card: Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

It's still far better than what it used to run on so yes.

Totally unrelated, does someone managed to have Net7/EnB running in it's latest version on linux ?

    I can't manage to.

The launcher works fine, but there is no host filled in nor emulator choice or port number, and when i fill the host and port manually, i can check the online status of the server the number of players, but the launcher can't find the emulator.

And if i use the command with the proxy it tells me connexion failed and that there is a certificate problem or something.

(and i can't update it in anyway).

edit>> after some tests, using the

    wine net7proxy.exe /ADDRESS:"87.106.15.67"

command (the ip is the one a dns lookup on play.net-7.org returns), there is no error of login, but i've got an error telling me that EnB failed to launch.

    If someone have an idea....

  4. The signup let me do it, gave me no error, and i still can log in on net-7.org with it.

Don't know why if it's not supposed to, but it's a fact.

And i didn't change my password ingame since i can't log in with that account. :)

(btw is there a way to reset the password to something working, since i would prefer using the same forum and ingame accounts).

  5. Ok i kind of fixed it (or at least found a workaround).

I created another account with a more simpler password (nott the 19 chars long with special chars in it ) and it works.

So i guess either there is a problem on the client side with the lenght of the password, or and encoding problem either on the client or server side.

In the end, don't use too complicated passwords and stay away from specials chars in it.

  6. Ok sorry if it's a known issue, but i haven't found a topic about it.

I created an account on the forums (again, my old one was lost for good :P), and then one for the server.

I've got both of them activated (ie : i can log both on the forums and there), i've followed the step by step installations instructions, leading to the corret launching of the game via the 7 launcher (updates and such), but when i try to use the login/pass from net-7.org to log in game (the "Megan step"), i've got an error message saying my login information weren't accepted.

Maybe i've missed something (like changing the host->ip links or something), but i don't think so.

    To sum it :

    - i've installed the original game and patched it

    - i've installed Net7 and Net7 tools

    - i've updated Net7 and the game through the Net7 launcher

    - i'm starting the game through the Net7 launcher

    - the game launch fine

    - when trying to log into the game on the server (tried both options available in the launcher ), got an error saying that the login informations weren't accepted.

If you need some other info, let me know.

PS : thanx again for all the work, been some time since i last checked on the project and it has been a blast seeing the progress. Thanx again for all the work put into it so us E&B addicts can indulge again into one of the best mmorpg ever. :)
