  1. Got the weirdest thing today: My toon is in a sector named "Prison Colony Heaven", according to the login screen.  What did I do? (I got stuck in the Blue Galatic Screen of course).  WIll look for a GM in game.

Prison Colony Haven is what you see when you log out while on Remar or Bremen (one or the other, I forget which) in Moto.

FYI When you used to do that you get "lost" on the server and would have to get a GM to move you to Net7 like Woodstock did for you.

  2. @ Darkk  Thanks for the update, I was aware there was some effort in that direction, and it is appreciated :D  Our limitations with the client are well known and understood.  Kyp mentioned, in forum, that a number after the name is possible, but inelegant and likely will not be done and I agree.  It is jarring and counter-immersive in a Role playing sense.  And also way, way down the list of Things To Do.

@ Talonz  I always have that resource open when playing, that is a great Idea!

@ Lovelygirl That is a great forum picture!  If it is of you I can see you are Blonde, just like me!!  ;)   I often need to find other ways to make the game easier, as well as repetition (often a LOT of repetition) to learn new things.  The best of luck in your journey, and keep on playing :)

  3. Not to belabor the point, but since the colored banners are interchangeable, could there not be a roman numeral emblazoned on the brown banner at a comp vendor?  Then the station editors choices would then be red, green/trade, grey, green/Gem, and brown I to IX or blank.  Pirate vendors with multilevel wares could remain blank

Or a defiling of the name over the head, adding a Arabic number? i.e. "Ota Denbe 2"

The latter is surely achievable, although not esthetic (Kyp, at one time, mentioned this is not likely to happen) and the former would seem to be possible, but the effort required may be a bit much.

As a builder I have the vendors in Joves, F7, OMP and Somerled memorized so I run right to the vendor level I need.  Non-builders surely do the hunt and peck on a regular basis.

Or should we just be happy with what we got, not having to actually go into the vendors wares to see the items level, since there are many more pressing matters needing attention?  :)

  4. @ JohnSilver -  I thought I was on to something with Tang's Vigor, sorry to hear that Byakhee, erm I mean, Kenlz gave you the finger <_<

I have done Agrippa twice now, on all three char types.  The first time I started it, I had two  PW's a PS and a PP ALL maxed level.

I just started new ones and warped my play style to do Agrippa and had fun on my others.

I have not done any back door or alter-hate methods so I cant be more help, sorry :(

EDIT: just looked at Stanig's post..    Smack Kenlz with the Tang's again!!

  5. The Theodosius does not have that part in it  <_<

The Sentinels Dynamo has no publicly listed builders and may not drop.

The Vulture and Juggernaut both drop from the Mordana. Both use the part.

Tang's Vigor reactor also has the part and you may be able to get one looted from PrrePP who was offering to sell looted ones on market the other day.  It is not listed as a Blacksun reactor, but It drops from a named RD pirate, and may be what he is asking for.

Also there are over 30 listed public builders of the Brimstone Fire Cell.

    Hope that helps ;)

  6. Id like to point out to you guys that the WN can be used by your traders and explorers, the CVE never could.  So you are still benefitting (albeit to a smaller extent than before the adjustment) from having it.  It is 12 percent turbo you cant get any other way for those six classes.

Keep the CVE and use it on your warrior, or do the mission and use it on any profession as the waking nightmare.

    sounds familiar     ^_^

My Traders and Explorers love and use the WN, my Warriors have one less vault space, cause that is where it sits, since the CVE has a positive buff, no negative buffs and installs faster, and the WN no longer stacks, turbo-wise.  If the WN had been 'balanced' to 11% or 13%, we all would still be using it, since it still stacks. EDIT: (This is because I AM using the CVE on my Warriors)  :)

It is what it is *shrug* and I play the game as it is handed to me.  I am glad the game is here, I am thankful for all the hard work put into it, no if's, and's or but's.

    Many Thanks :)

Sorry I didn't make the implied statement more obvious  ;)

I have already taken your point to heart and expressed it to you all.  I love the item for my Traders and Explorers and I use the CVE on my Warriors, because they (realistically) get no benefit from it now.

It is the perceived "Taking Back" that has people miffed, even though it is a necessary balance needed.

If that could be avoided in the future, it would be better I think.

That may be the lesson learned from this experience. ^_^

Still really thankful for all the hard work done so I can play this game  :D

  7. Solution = "Public Raids" ?

Very successful on Peg-a-lag in "Live"

Yes they were.  I got many items for the gate raids and made lotsa credits too. :)

Do you think the current state of affairs can support 50 to 100 or more toons in the same area as we experienced in live?

If what I hear is true, you get more that 25 or so in a close area, there are DC's  a-plenty.....  <_<

  8. It amazes me that one "Bonus mission", and one "Bonus Item" I designed have caused this much heartache.

It ain't your fault, it ain't the mission, and it ain't how easy or hard it is to do the mission (depending on you point of view).

It is taking something back that has people pissed, IMHO.

  9. I don't have a screen, but I know you could use repair equip and hull patch during warp, I loved to watch those little nanite-drone things pop out in front of ship and tickle my hull with repair beams with the streaky lights of warp surrounding me. Id do it even when I wasn't injured just for fun to see it, however you couldn't do it much, since it took energy and your reactor wasn't charging during warp, you would end up at your destination juiceless.

When we got our hindends handed to us we usually were repairing all way to gate in cooper to finish up heal/repair, or all way through grissom, shepard heading to OMP to save on the tow/docking fee.

I remember that the repulsor field was addable while warping, but you had to hit it fast between retargets of navs if you wanted to add it to others in group, same with the enviro shield.

I'm almost certain (but its hazy) that you could shield charge like the repulsor/enviro, and heal as well, the targeted healing was the same way, hitting nav as you travel retargeted you, you had to be nimble. the area heal you didn't have to target, but it sucked so much juice you could only pull it a few times before your reactor was at bottom.

I'm remembering that devices that were buff in nature worked, as long as they weren't to reactor or engine, with the exception of the TT RR devices, you could hit others in trade group with that while warping for sure, I'd take noobs on the spice run for a while and refresh the buff on them with it through glenn just to make sure it didn't fall off and slow the group down. The shield ones were also, my PS would hit everyone in group with refuge/refresh buffs on way to combat area.

the reactor device buffs I remember you could hit while warping, but the buff wouldn't be on at end of warp, so what would be the point.

And of course you couldn't use debuffs, you zipped past any mob you would hit to fast to even target them let alone use it. I think that's part of why the spiderweb device was never really implemented.

Oh psi shield..if I'm remembering right it was like the other bubble types, you had to target and mash the button before you retargeted another nav during warp.

As to device swaps, you could to devices but not to the core items (reactor/shield/engine). Anything that buffed warp (RR+, lazerus) if you pulled it during warp you lost that buff and would slow down, but adding it while warped didn't speed you up until you stopped and reengaged warp. Some of the devices you could put in, but not use, like sting or laser or telescopium, until you dropped warp.

Weapon swaps, you could pull a weapon while warped but not install a weapon while warped, but you could reload ammo or switch dmg types, I did that a lot going to cooper/niff depending on enemy type and their resistances.

I, too remember it this ^^^  way.

  10. I need to go out and test him, to see what he takes now, but he used to take 5 things I am sure of before his changes: Debris, Wreckage Slag, Scrap metal, Landing Struts and Leaky Power Cells.  Pre-changes I just took everything that I thought they might like, popped it in my hold and that was the only way I could get any kind of chat bubble out of him, no goodies - no chat <_<

I was really surprised to see that he did NOT take the Empty Cargo Containers L6  as they looked exactly like the graphic for many of the "Crate of' devices that they build.

  11. ok, so it sounds like non-device builders and non-comp builders could make the Duct Tape/Roller Press, unlike now (not complaining, just making the observation) ^_^

Still wondering if you had Glamor Goo and Derfresser Phlegm in you hold, back then, could you refine the adhesive,,,,,

  12. If you couldnt make devices, it still allowed you to make that device.

Wow, I have no idea what they let you do back then, I never made the device in Live.  But that begs the questions:

If you could not build L1 electronic components, did they let you build the Roller Press?

If you were not an explorer class, could you refine the Glamor Goo and Derfresser Phlegm to make the Adhesive?

Both Items are needed to make Duct Tape.  Currently you need the help of a Comp builder and Explorer to finish the mission, if your 'toon is lacking those skills.

Currently I believe the minimum requirements to start the mission are Dev Build 5 and EL 25.

  13. Have you ever.....

*found yourself in a job terminal that is now unresponsive?

*put your precious, hard-to-get looted item in the analyze terminal, and press the button, only to get no response, either way, and have to relog, only to find your item is now lost? :(

*press the manufacture button on an item and get no item built?

*try to dismantle an item, but the terminal locks up, and have to exit the game to get free?

Well, Zackman may have found an answer here...  :)

    To repeat Zackman's words here:

"I found out that this happens mostly when multiboxing.

I was able to reproduce this by simply disabling certain packets in the server send to my client with the result, the client being immediatly STUCKED in the terminal!

    What happens:
The client sends a packet to the server (eg. clicking a job) and then the client is waiting for a response for THIS VERY PACKET.
Server send back the answer, but if client has a packet drop here, the client is stucked.

Unfortunatly the server can not check the client being stucked, since the client is now stopping sending anymore terminal packet at this point.

This means we cannot fix this server-sided....but we can "trick" the client:
I added a new command now called "/unstuck".
Whenever you (player) send this command, the server will send a "Fake terminal packet" to the client and the client becomes immediatly responsive again (just tested it).

This will unstuck you from jobterminal and/or manufacture terminal.

!!It will unstuck you in a way that you are not losing the item in the manufacture terminal anymore!!
    WOOTI....

Sorry it took a year...just going through all old bugs and came across this one...."

    /Endquote

    Thanks Zackman!! :D

  14. I may be wrong, but I believe that Byakhee changed the level restrictions, you can level past 75, even get your HU for that level, and still start agrippa, there are penalties, yes, but do NOT take my word for it.  Read post # 61 in this thread, from Byakhee himself. See what he says.

This may allow you to level higher and get what you need to advance, "where there is a will, there is a way"   ;)

Edit:  wow, I just scanned thru this topic and see that YOU, Muhir, started it, lol.  I see that almost all of your opening observations are still valid now, and are good tips to follow.  They helped me in doing all three toon types thru stage III.   The outline Snotty laid out (post # 84) was a real help and kept me outta frustration this go round.

Did it before, done it now, would do it again. :P

  15. Muhir- you can buy progen suits.  The rate asked for in market is 10mil per stack, one stack of 60 will get you 3000 faction when you turn them in to Zieg for Collegia faction boost.

Or as a PS start mining them from hulks and there are are mobs that drop them.  If you do, as with all loot, trade with an alt before turning them in to a vendor/NPC.

And there are repeatable missions, 4 I think, from Imperator Agrippa on Arx Empros that can help @ 50 faction per mission, iirc

I am not sure what faction you need to start, but for my toon it only took 2400 faction to start Stage II, cant find what it took for Stage I.

    Happy Agrippa-ing  ;)

  16. There is no shield recharge at all while taking damage. Changing the shield charge rate = useless.

Yes, agreed.  And I am putting this on hold as you wish.

There are however a few devices, usually for a PS, that are worthless since there is no shield recharge until 6 seconds after the last damage you take, as it is now, unlike it was in Live, when your shield (and the mobs) did not react the same way.

This, I believe, is their point.  Back then you could regen shields faster than your mob could damage you, in some cases.  Mobs then also had this ability.  As it is now your L150 PW with a CFB can sit next to a low level mob that can do 1 damage to you every 5 seconds or less, and eventually that mob will kill you, unlike Live.

I am not complaining, or asking for a change, and you are probably aware of this and working on it, or have it on a list.

    /pressing the hold button ^_^
