Thanks, BL - that seems to have fixed the problem. I can log in even without the "debug launch" now. -
I hate to cross-post but I figure this forum gets more GM attention than the general support forum
I have an issue where most of the time my client CTD right after it gets the character details. I've detailed my troubleshooting here.
Can I get someone to check my account, and let me know if my thinking is correct?
Thanks -
I think my issue might have something to do with my Terran Scout, that I hardly if ever play. I ran a packet trace on my login session and it seems to end right after I get the character names and stations from the server. I get the last of the characters, my computer sends a ACK, and then 5 seconds later a SYN RESET when I close the client (after it crashes).
If there's a GM that wouldn't mind helping out, can you just kill my TS toon (Radioactiveboar)? I haven't played him in forever, and I can always just create a new one if I get the urge to play a new class character again. -
I was digging through my MP3's trying to clean them up, and ran across "The 12 days of EnB". Thought you'd like to hear it, if you didn't hear it when the game was live.

I hate to say "me too" like some brain-dead AOLer but I have this same issue. I was playing less than 24 hours ago, so I can't figure out the issue.
Toons:
Mordac
Beauregard
Radioactiveboar
EDIT: Nevermind, a reboot and "Debug Launch" fixed 'er right up. -
I have the same issue and deleting the net7proxy.exe has no effect. I even reinstalled and seem to have gone backwards, as now the patch notes won't even display
Nevermind this... I seemed to have fixed it. I dug around in the config files and found the website that the patcher uses to update, and used w3get to manually download the patched files. I ran the launcher afterwards and it updated both N7 and the client.

yep, just delete net7proxy and re-run the launcher.
We don't know why this happens but sometimes it does ...

Yeah, I figured it out, she was trying to name the character "Sam" and it blew up every time. I had her name it "Samantha" and it worked. So, false alarm, but it would be nice to know what the issue was, just to satisfy my own curiosity...

Yeah, I can log in the other two toons... and I don't get a "name in use" message... just weird.
I'll probably create a second account for the youngins... didn't know the attitude towards multi accounts, but if it's not taboo then that's definitely the way to go.
Edit: Created a second account for the youngun, and immediately tried to create a TE, and it failed. I also tried on my laptop and got the same thing. I had her create a JE and it succeeded... but she can't create any Terran toons...
Looks like creating Terrans is bugged for the time being. How do I raise a bug report?

Hi,
I'm trying to create a TE character and I can't It's really annoying because I have a TT and PS already, but the youngster of the house wants to play too
I get all the way through the character creation, enter a name and choose the server, and then after a long pause I get "Lost connection to global server". If I run a debug launch, this is the last message in the window:
31/07/10 12:51:44 Illegal opcode from Server to Global Account connection
I've set the emulation mode on "client.exe" to XP SP2, and ran the E&B Configuration tool to set the resolution... and still the same problem.
Running on Vista Ultimate SP2.

I had the same problem with the certificate and just had to do this to get it working. *NOTE* You probably have to be a local computer administrator to do this, and are not for the faint of heart :) :
YMMV but I had to manually import the cert into the computer's certificate store before it would work. Oddly enough, it worked fine using the default install the first time through, and only started acting up after I made some workstation changes at work to reflect a new AD domain. Weird :)
