Item Quality Enchancement - Credit Sink

In those unique situations, maybe.  Id have to check with the others, because the current mechanic as you know for replacement is space, redo raid, replace.  (and some people frown on ubers being spaced for upgrade/replacement as it is)

Its a very fine line, but the one definite no that came out of yesterday was the concept of being able to take a glare of devastation and making it 200 percent.  That simply will not happen.  Restoration or repair of manu goods may still be debatable, but we wont be going over 125 on non-manu drops.  (the scaling on those items is ridiculous because they are designed for around the 100 mark, not 200)

Sounds fair to me.  I don't expect most non-manufacturable items to go beyond 125% for balance reasons.  I also remember there being a previous problem with non-manu items dropping at qualities above 125%.  Found more than a few in hulks during ST4/Beta.   So yeah, I think asking for a GoD to be 200% is asking too much.

Edit:  For the devices given by Lyle McDonald to the PE and JE, the manufacturable option, with adjusted stats to allow it, works pretty well since both classes could build such a device if it was a print reward for doing his missions.  (Keep the other restrictions of no-trade, Terran Restricted, and Explorers Only)  Since that's in the distant future (opening of der Todesengel) so there's time for deciding that.  NOS is a little harder, since it's not race restricted, and some of the characters that have it cannot build devices due to skill set.  In that type of case, a means for repair or replacement of the device is probably the only solution, since it's a no-trade device.

Well the main idea was really to fix dinged up stuff, but being expensive to do so, as to not take away anything from builders.

eg. normal manuf stuff you wouldn't spend a large sum to take your "zet" from 199 to 200.

but something say like Intent engine or ss reactors, you could take the cheap option of a rebuild..with the potential to loose the "drop" only part  or shell out massive amounts of coin.

non-manuf stuff perhaps can be repaired upto 100% which would still make the >100% valuable / sought after.

Point wiht intent or SSR, it is not that they are expensive, we players make them expensive because most of us don't have time to camp for it, they are total of two silly parts, dropping from two silly mobs... It's not like it is hard to kill them

The shooting star might be a silly mob with a rarish timer, but the Intent requires a raid that takes 2-3 groups and a rare dropping raid trigger.

Either way, not worth to panic over a few percent drop...

Ok, crazy idea of the day. What about making mission reward items, such as the NOS, not take quality loss? Let them take structure loss, requiring equipment repair, but make them immune to taking quality loss.
