metagard Posted September 1 Report Posted September 1 Yes I suppose enabling all slash commands could be problematic, as there are a bunch of them that actually do things rather than just toggle a setting so I see your point. I have not checked out the damage meter, but if it shows damage types then that's all I'd need. I made a few TT characters with the intention of leveling them up together in a multibox group of 3. I have no idea what I am doing, though. I tried to make the fleet follow the leader to a nav point to do the first mission. I figured out how to bring up the command box (ctrl-Q by default) and told them to come to me. Only one of them did it, so I manually moved the other one to me. Then I pulled a lvl 1 mob and told them to assist me, and again only one of them complied, plus I got adds. As we sat there dead, I noticed that I couldn't get the mouse cursor to enter the screen of the TT which was not following commands, so I think it was glitched out a little bit. It eventually let the mouse back in after a few repetitions of clicking between the two other windows. I think I accidentally opened the group command box in that follower's window, so that might have caused the issue. I am having one actual problem, which is that all the fonts are a little bit squished and it makes some of them very hard to read - the labels on objects in space and on navs in the map are the worst in this respect because the font is so skinny to begin with - they are basically unreadable. I tried adjusting the chat fonts but there doesn't seem to be a setting that renders clearly. I had a theory that it might be because I was messing with custom screen resolutions using the net7config.exe, before I knew your program existed. I thought this because it seems like one program is setting the window size and another is setting the font size, but for a different resolution.. or something. I did try re-running net7config.exe and setting it to the same resolution as my main window's setting in Net7ClientManager, but the fonts were still wonky so that may not be the problem. All told, the client manager makes logging in a breeze and I had a bunch of fun. I will read the documentation more fully and try to get my baby TT's to behave tomorrow night. Quote

Thank you for your time Huron, it is greatly appreciated. i can work around the DPi issues, no problem. just an aesthetics issue. 1 Quote

You can set the font-size per resolution. So if you have a game window that smaller, and the fonts become unreadable, you can increase the font-size. Likewise if you have a game window that's bigger, you can also decrease the font-size. These font-size settings are stored by the game for each resolution. So you can have different settings for each resolution you use. As for the net7 config, the client manager now also takes care of that, there is a checkbox that is on by default which keeps the resolution of the client manager window the same as the game. If you untick it, you can change them independently. Best to try out what actually works best for you, it fully depends on your setup. Quote

I assume you are talking about the 'chat font' settings that are part of the base game. I did play with these extensively, looking for a combination of font size and font scale which rendered cleanly, but they all had this issue. Larger fonts were generally more readable, but they all looked distorted. I did see that the client manager pulls those (and many more) settings in per-character which is super cool. I also noticed those settings don't effect the labels of objects in space or the map's nav labels. 5 hours ago, Huron said: As for the net7 config, the client manager now also takes care of that, there is a checkbox that is on by default which keeps the resolution of the client manager window the same as the game. I saw that this was possible but at the time I couldn't think of a reason it would be beneficial. I was thinking that having these settings differ would just clip off the edges of the game window or create empty space at the edges, but if I understand correctly, the client manager applies a scaling effect to the existing game window... so if I scaled a smaller game window to display larger in the client manager, that would generally hurt details, like blowing up a small raster image. However if I scale a larger game window to display smaller, that should sharpen everything, sort of like modern games' resolution scaling settings. I experimented with this and it appears I am correct about how the two settings work, but I did not find any combination that improved the fonts' rendering. Then I noticed that in Windows display settings, I had the font display size for that monitor set to 125% because I am old. I had not realized this would effect games, or indeed artificially increase the size of game windows by 25%, but that looks to be what was happening. I figured this out because when I run net7config using a resolution which should fit in my screen, it was running off the edge because it was too large. So, when using the client manager, I was setting a desired resolution for the game, windows was bumping it up by 25% by adjusting the font size, then that was being scaled back down to the desired resolution again. I guess I was not far off with my theory about two programs playing tug-of-war with the font size, I was just wrong about the programs involved. For anyone else having this problem, turning off windows' font scaling option and then rebooting might fix it. After turning off font scaling, I had several weird problems until a reboot, including the client manager typing something other than the password into the password field of the game during login. I can now read the fonts in-game and I'm excited to continue playing around with the client manager. Quote

So makes sense that that would cause issues. Good that you found it! Also, old is a relative term xD Quote

Binkdekiller Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago Hi, is there a way to set up a hot key for firing all weapons on the same target? Quote
Huron Posted 2 hours ago Author Report Posted 2 hours ago I haven't made a hot key directly for that, but it's available through the command palette. When you use the hotkey of that, and then click "Assist me", all alts will acquire your target and "Fire all". Quote
