Game Crashes After Logging In

I was playing normally earlier today, but when I try to login now, I enter my username/password and it crashes immediately. I am running Windows Vista with all updates. I have turned off UAC and am trying running all steps along the way as Run as Administrator but it's still not working. The funny thing is that it worked a couple hours ago! I tried restarting and re-running it several times.

Can anyone please help? Thanks!

Update: It works when I do step 1 of the INV-300 solution (from the FAQ linked in my first post) and choose Debug Launch when launching LaunchNet7. After I restart, I need to do step 1 of the INV-300 solution again.

Very weird, but at least I can play again. Still would appreciate if anyone has any feedback. Thanks!

Encountered similar problem just today after I updated client and other files. Last option - to delete latest preferemce files really save my day.

I am getting this problem again.

Thanks for your input,Maddogmckill. I tried deleting the preference files but it didn't help. I even tried my previous bug fixes but they're not working this time.

I think I have narrowed down what causes this issue. It happened right after I started the installed twice in a row (immediately back-to-back).

Does anyone have any potential fixes?

Might it help if I uninstalled and reinstalled something?

I'm having very similar problems. My game freezes when gating, forcing me to terminate using the Windows Task Manager. Next time I go to log in, game crashes after login, right before the little handprint lights up. I've used everything listed above and still, no dice

Having the same problem. I open the client , get to the log in screen and soon as I hit accept it crashes.

*edit* Hmm, running EBConfig again seemed to fix it. Weird.

updates can require Run as Admin and WinXp compat mode to have to be reset on the client.exe. I know I have to do this occasionally.

Clearing all files from the Earth and Beyond\Data\client\output folder and re-setting the games resolution (via Earth and Beyond #1\EBCONFIG\E&BConfig.exe) to a standard res, such as 1280x1024 can also help. Another thing to check is if there are any windows networking updates via Windows Update (if running windows that is).

If all else fails a clean uninstall/re-install is always recommended. I actually keep a clean copy of the install and just make copies....of the copy. That way if anything becomes corrupt I can just delete the folder and start from scratch.
