A Problem Im Seing More And More Of

Recommended Posts

Try installing the sunrise patch here:

you just unzip it to the root drive where you installed the client, so it replaces the authlogin.dll and ini files.

If this doesn't help, next try following instructions here:

Finally try a drive scan - for some reason this has worked for a lot of people here, including me:

click start/windows and then click on 'computer'.
right click on c:
click on 'properties'
click on the 'tools' tab.
the top button in the dialogue that opens should be 'Check Now'.
Make sure 'automatically fix file system errors' is checked, and then when you click ok it'll ask if you want to restart.

Have seen this problem a couple of patches ago.
I had to reset updates in the launcher to be able to login.
If i crashed i had to reset the updates again except if i was dual boxing already.
Something wasn't exactly right in the patcher or something was corrupt in my download.

After a couple of days of reseting the patches it disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared .

here's what fixed it for me, I found it in Cdel's announcement

"The game crashes as soon as I try to log in to my account or character.
Try both of the following:
Compatibility Mode

Go to your Earth & Beyond folder. (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Earth & Beyond)

Open the "release" folder.

Right-click on "client.exe" and open its Properties.

Under the "Compatibility" tab, set the Compatibility Mode to "Windows XP (SP2)".

Click "Apply" and "OK".
E&BConfig

Go back to your Earth & Beyond folder.

Open the "EBCONFIG" folder.

Run E&BConfig.exe (If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7: Right-Click > Run As Administrator).

Change the resolution setting to anything larger than 800x600.

Run the Performance Test (by clicking "Performance Test"), then click "OK".
Preference Files

Try removing preference files. This often fixes new login crash issues. Open the 'Data' directory in the Earth & Beyond folder, now open the 'output' folder. Sort by 'date modified' and delete the newest .ini files. Go crazy, you can't break anything by deleting anything in this folder."
