Tienbau
Tienbau I dont know if anyone else has this problem but clicking local cert does not work for me. I get an error every time Ive tried to use it. Here is the error in the Net7Proxy.exe Dos Window: Connecting to Authentication Server on 127.0.0.1:443 SSL_CTX_use_PrivateKey_file failed I run my game without this checked because if I do use it the game either drops at the Megan screen or locks up/crashes to desktop in game. Never been able to fix this, Ive tried to reinstall the Net7 files via deleting the folder and using a fresh copy. I run the game without it just fine, and I used the host editing "Fix" plus the addition in the server drop down menu in the client Launcher -> 87.106.15.67 For some reason with this "Fix" the game runs smoother and without the lag I was experiencing before the forum server crash. that's fine - local cert can't be expected to work on every PC. Some PC's are just configured in a way that prevents an authentication server running (firewalls, proxies, registry damage etc etc) We had the same issues with the single player server when that was being released. It's only an emergency login system, it's much better to use the normal login. Local cert is a last-ditch login system left over from the time when the server's cert became invalid, we'll probably remove it soon since the server is much better managed these days. Kyp [LDEV]
Nope, just having a lil trouble with a code change. We may end up backing it out for tonight owing to the need to sleep. I will let you all know in a few minutes. *EDIT* Sorry guys, owing to some changes that were made to infrastructure that it looks like TB may have done, we've backed it out temporarily. We'll put the patch in properly soon. The downtime was unfortunate but we do have the groundwork laid for a few of the advocate issues that were brought up. Brought it up as it was for now, off to bed, have a good night. I'm up way beyond my usual time. Edited January 23, 2011 by Kyp

Zenshai
lol, so close flew around for 1 min This is the fun part of working in a beta situation... New content always causes minor issues like downtime. Just wish it want tonight... I worked on "Wife" faction all week to get her back into the blue so I could play and boom. down goes the server... Guess it's just my 'zen' karma

jasonamcwain
Ouch, I'm assuming it's down for the night. Guess I should check status before setting up the 3 workstations into 1 chair... Now what do I do? lol
Murdered
Shouldnt the server be set to start back up on its own if there is a crash?
Searing
Shouldnt the server be set to start back up on its own if there is a crash? They tried to add some improvements to the game and something unexpected came up. the coders had to crash they will try to get to it sunday am we can't do an automatic reboot thing or we can't tell what is working vs not working w/o a look over ...also could cause wide spread damage if not looked at first (the code that is) Searing GM
C Del[IS]
Sorry, I just saw that the server has been down. I fixed (I believe) the problem that caused the server to crash last time; hopefully it won't find another reason to go down. The server is starting now. Edit: Trying something else to try to quell the insane lag... Edited January 23, 2011 by C Del

tredway
Just a thought, Im sure its being done, but wouldnt it make sense to bring the servers offline, take a backup, then patch, then bring online? If there's an issue like this, just revert back to the current backup that is up to date at server down time. Or another solution would be VMWare's snapshots but of course you have to be up on a VMWare System first, you can just take simple snapshots and revert on the fly live. Anyways just trying to toss some ideas while I twiddle my thumbs as its primetime for me over here in Korea. Too damn cold outside to go anywhere without busting my butt in the streets on the snow/black ice! C Del give me a shout on Teamspeak if I can lend any support, as Im here putzin around!
