I was trying to find solutions to this issue on the forum and came up dry. Just wanted to say that if anyone comes across this issue the way it was resolved for me was simply by uninstalling/reinstalling the client. Also, after the "Lost connection to global server." error popped a few times, the game would try and load for an infinite amount of time after I entered username and password. (These may be related.)
