fernandes Posted December 23, 2009 Report Share Posted December 23, 2009 Hello, I got a problem with starting the game. after the LaunchNET7 starts it says **Couldn't find the patch. Try again later.** I have looked throught the forum and used search but it didn't give me any usefull hits. The installation procedure was as follows. 1. Downloaded Game Demo -> Client Patch -> NET7 Setup 2. Installed Game Demo 2. Done Client Patch (e&b_up) 3. Done NET7 Setup and let it fully patch. now when that was all done i started LaunchNET7 again it started the Net7proxy.exe wich says Proxy version 1.68 Attempting to connect~ Sending Login. Log OK Starting e&b Launch E&B Succesfull MVAS threath running (this one comes 15 seconds after the other lines) then the patcher says finding file, and then it says the **Couldn't find the patch. Try again later.** Launchnet7 verion 1.8.9 under the Play button it says **Current Version 237** ive tried 3 reinstalls of all above. Hope anyone can help me with this. To determine which client version you have start in your Net7 install folder -> open "Client-Version.txt" in any text editor, such as notepad. It should read 49 currently. If that is the case your up to date. I know in my case when I start LaunchNet7 it always shows a patch error, but after selecting "launcher" menu -> "check for updates" it completes without error. Just to clarify after the Net7 proxy says "Launch E&B Succesfull" the eula screen doesn't come up? Instead LaunchNet7 comes back and displays the couldn't find patch? Has Net7 / EnB worked for you in the past on that computer? Assuming that that is the case it sounds like the Net7Proxy is having trouble launching the EnB client. If you running vista or windows 7, be sure to set the client/launcher in windows xp compatibility mode. I've also heard you need to run it as an admin. If that doesn't help or your not using those operating systems, I'd like check to see if the EnB client will manually start. To do so go to Earth & Beyond\release and double click on client.exe . Indeed after it says launch e&b succesfull it pops up the launchnet7 patcher again and says couldnt find patch. this is the first time i connect to the servers. killercore Posted December 24, 2009 Report Share Posted December 24, 2009 seemed the patcher was linked towards the wrong exe. tested it on my laptop and worked fine. so hes copying my dir's now . anyway now will need to wait for server to get back up . mods can close topic. I apologize if my earlier instructions where misleading, manually launching the game won't allow you to play. This is because the net7proxy is required to redirect the earth and beyond client to the Net7 servers instead of looking for the old live servers. The reason I asked you to test that is because it isolates whether there is an issue with the enb client or net7. As far as I've seen the Net7 play servers have been up this whole time. In any case back to the issue of the Net7proxy failing to launch the enb client even though it thinks it did. I've seen this twice on my system, however, it worked correctly after I closed the Net7proxy window and tried again. Unfortunately its highly likely that you have already done that and I haven't been able to reproduce the error more reliably. If I get another idea I'll add it. When trying to launch the Net7 Client, I get this error message: This is the 1st time that I try to run at this computer! When starting the client.exe manually, all is OK until I have entered the player that I want, but I never get into the starbase! Is something wrong? Is something wrong? xrun, given that error you more then likely have an issue with your .Net Framework. Try repairing or upgrading your copy of the .Net framework on that computer. killercore Posted December 25, 2009 Report Share Posted December 25, 2009 The problem fernandes and i have atm is that the game starts with the proxy and all but the login is still directed to the old EA servers. Found out i had to edit the host.bat file to have the line 127.0.0.1 etc. got in the game now now to get it fixed at fernandes hehe. thanks a lot for helping us out all.
