Need combat help please.

I have been finding it hard to get combat levels. I'm 19/20/18 now. People are telling me to do scuttle bugs, but they are too grouped together and hard to pull just one. My class is a TS. I just really want to get some group combat lvl help please. I remember in live it was so easy to get groups going, but here everyone is too busy.

You need to stay at max missile range and shoot one mob, let it come to you while you reverse in a circle to stop the mob from returning to its spawn point, called kiting.

 You are high enough to be after the mobs in Carpenter. (you should be able to kill a mob around 10 levels higher than your CBT level)

Wayward Drone & Wayward Satellite. Appx move speed 190. Appx range 1.3k. Proximity Aggresive w/ scan range of about 2.5k. Very easy to kite mid-lvl target with only ~1200 combined HP. Plasma dmg is effective. Energy deflect is optional. Recommended for CL 12 to 24.

Just FYI that the wiki exists and has a page for this. Wayward drones/sats are EASILY the best way to lvl at that point because they have like 1/5th the HP of any other CL 20 mob. Those 'low HP mobs' stop after CL20, at least AFAIK. But enjoy it while it's there.

 

If you're using Nullfactor field during combat, stop. Unless you're in a gravity shear it costs you power to run it.

 

Combat is balanced around having 200% everything. So with anything less than that, it's going to be hard. And for a TS, you might want to make and level a PW alt purely for the firepower. Play the PW and TS together. Almost nobody is going to have a CL20 alt to help you, sadly.

Actually this is an inaccurate statement, if you warp cancel it STOPS the reactor drain totally so there is no cost at all! What I mean by warp cancel is target nothing and hit warp and immediatley cancel it. So yes USE NullFactor all the time as it has reactor regen when hit with appropriate mob weapons - aka free reactor energy.

 

I love mining in Glenn with the mobs on my TS as they replenish my reactor.. its Awsome.

The game is not balanced to you having to have 200% items, they defiantley make life easier thats for sure and help deal more damage or provide damage mitigation. It is possible to level with just shop gear - all be it slower than with someone who has access to Player made gear.

The EMU comunity is a fraction of that when EnB was live, they had 1000's of players online while here in the EMU we at best have no more than 20-30 actual players who may be playing multiple toons at one time which gives the illusion of lots of players.

 

Most of the time there are players that only play solo toons but they may not be in you time zone and online when you asked in chat for grouping  etc.

I will only argue this point once, but 'do not quote the deep magics to me, I was there when they were written'. This game IS balanced around 200% equipment. Even at level 2. Because I remember the old HP and shield values of mobs in Mars Alpha/Beta. And the values at low levels are almost 3x what they should be. This was done because, in the EMU, getting 200% gear was far, far easier than it was back in live, and the powers that be decided it would be 'too easy' without that over-tuning. You are welcome to think I don't know what I'm saying, or that I am wrong, that is your right in free will. But that belief will never bend reality to agree with you.
