Xelkos
The idea comes from Everquest 2. There was an option to set an item Not For Resell. What one would do was take their character to an NPC that would purchase thing. Then could right click the item and set a special box that blocked the item from being sold - unless the check mark was removed. EQ2 can be played for free. Go make a character and try to sell an empty bag as an example. You will see there is a checked box that must be removed to sell the container. This also works with any item in Everquest 2. Would like to see a similar thing in this game to prevent accidental selling. Why? Lot of good items look like looted items - having the same icons and trash/vendor fodder. Yes, I lost a L7 Harpy - but that can be eaisly replaced. Have heard horror stories from other players regarding more higher level items - some that cannot be replaced.
alurra [Fmr. ADV]
I suspect something of this nature would require changing/altering the code of the game and as such, is not allowable. Maybe the ADV can mention it to the team to see what they say. Fly Safe -Alurra
Hobbs
What I have seen done is to change the Icon of the good item to make it more recognizable, such as the red eyes on the Plague Bite. It no longer looks like vendor food  Thanks for that, and all the devs efforts!
C Del[IS]
Alurra is quite correct. It could be done with a slash command, but that's not exactly convenient. It's funny that Destiny actually had this same age-old problem and only addressed it well into their first year, maybe 9 months after release. When will they learn? :P
Arthurdent [CDEV]
Since the beginning of Project Rainbow : 640 graphics assets modified / added to the game. Team Skittles' mandate is to differentiate items from "junk" loot and separate "special" items from other "mundane" ones. We try to create at least one voluntary positive change per patch cycle, aside from other tasks assigned or requested for current development projects. Most recent updates to items of this nature : Golden Washboard, Tolerance, Intolerance, Warrior's Resolve and Tactical Advantage devices. We're also in yer cargo hold, colorizing yer ammo  Xelkos : the suggested change would require modifying how the client handles, displays items and their properties. Not possible. Personal comment : while the harpy model is common to other devices, it is NOT used on any "junk" stackable. So if you shift+clicked a sell on it .... well. Yeah.
