Part of the 'what server did I play on' train of thought that I never finished, I managed to find a ton of screenshots from 2002 on an old hdd and clipped out some of the conversations occurring in them. The defenders channel seems to have served much the same purpose as the New Players channel seems to play on Sunrise - generally being more sarcastic than helpful, but still worth listening to. Anyway, by chance does someone recognise any of these names, and happen to remember the server?

Were these from Andromeda?  I think I remember one of those names from before, but I could be mistaken.

Sorry, no. I was on Orion and none of those names look familiar, however, back in original live the chat channels were always busy and you have to be paying close attention if you were in a conversation.

I'm betting Suri is Suricata, one of our past developers. I'll see if I can reach him and maybe he remembers. I don't think it was Andromeda though, I don't recognize a single one of these names (unless Suri is Suricata) and I was playing it obsessively between college classes and homework at that point.

If it narrows things down any, my first ENB toon was Genjiro, and I started at live release, so that would have been back in '02.

 

Shame if nobody knows any of those folks though, they were some really great peeps ^_^

 

Andromeda sounds vaguely familiar, but I honestly couldn't say it wasn't Pegasus -- I haven't the foggiest which server it was actually on... although, no, I think Masters of Orion when I think of Orion, so I doubt it was that one. Idle curiosity anyway, just thought I'd put it out there. Thanks for giving it a shot folks!

If it was Andromeda, I don't recall any of them, and I was a fairly social player, who went about playing the part of a pirate.

No, I don't remember Dahlia, but that doesn't mean I didn't encounter that particular player.  Some players stuck in my mind more than others.  Serinna, comes to mind as an example of a player I easily remember.  She hosted many public fishbowls in the last few months.  I don't know if that particular player had characters on any of the other servers, but was definitely on Andromeda.  AstralProjection was the name that jumped out at me, but it's possible that I saw the name somewhere else related to the game.

She led the guild Merchant Marines I think, and had all sorts of alts aside from Dallia, Terrell. Unfortunately that's the only name I bothered to remember after she said it was her main.

Yep, Dahlia was the leader of the Merchant Marines. I remember Serinna too.

Unfortunately I wasn't around to witness sunset, as I'd gotten too busy with a consulting job I was working at the time to remain an active player. Though I can't place it Dallia does sound familiar, but I did know Suri, Astralprojection, and Saleanna. Can't remember Serinna. Without the help of the plethora of screenshots I happened to find on an old hdd, I might notbe able to remember any of it though ;) it's too bad I didn't find many from my other characters.

I remember Suricata from Pegasus (Pegalag, almost forgot that appropriatelynamed nickname and rubber banding all over the place). We played together in live under my main Annihilator.

it has been years since they played last,  perhaps they may come back to play again.

I was on the Galileo server and was in a guild called Dragons Rage. Never heard from any of them after the shutdown. I know a lot of them went over to Eve for a while, but quit soon after.

If Tumble is a name, I know who that is. He has toons on Sunrise but I can barely get him to play anymore. He runs a trucking company these days.
