Ah, reading this thread brings back memories of just, well heck, yesterday when management sent me teams message every 5 minutes wanting to know when the fix would be done, and me telling them, you can have it done right or fast, not both. Some of you just need to relax, enjoy the spring time air and maybe play another game or with the kids, pets whatever... I won't say what I want to, to keep it safe for work! : ) Disaster recovery is never fun, planning for a disaster recovery is even worse, but once it is all done, you are grateful for drudging thru it to get it done. Relax Dev team, there is always going to be someone who is just impatient, beings most of you are in IT, you know what I mean. Enjoy yourself, families and then look at the issues you need to fix. Always remember what I tell management now, it gets done when it gets done and it will be as right as possible. Also, say it with a smile on your face knowing you just pissed someone off!

Rose, as I dual box myself, I have run into this issue.   Most of the time what it is, is that I gate one toon, then switch over and gate the other.  When I do this on 1 computer, it causes 1 client to kind of hang for a bit.  Usually if you wait it out it will finish gating without you having to close the client.  It has taken a few minutes, so it isn't a quick process.   Best thing to happen was the group gating, as this hasn't caused me any issues of a long gate time at all, while using this on the same computer.   The easiest work around to this issue is, gate one toon fully, let it finish gating, then switch to the other client and gate that toon.  It ends up being quicker to do it this way than trying to gate one then switch to the other gate that one, and then wait for both to finish gating.   Hope this helps..

Haha I never said people don't try! :)  We programmers always try for that mecca of bug free code, but achieving it is something else.   All MMO's try to be 100% exploit free, but then that just challenges those that seek exploits.   Remember, when we programmers make something dummy proof, they come along with a better dummy :)

Multi-Boxing allows you to have an instant group.   You have no need to find a healer/tank/battery when you can just level all those at the same time.   Sometimes I don't want to play nice with others, be it lack of game time or just not feeling friendly.  I have had my share of groups where a wipe causes instant player aggro because someone didn't get a heal in time, the tank didn't keep aggro the dps shot the wrong mob.. we all know, if you are honest we have all been through it.   Do I want to see multi-boxing go away?  NO, unless there is a problem with the game that is caused by it.   Can people deal with multi-boxing, well they can cry all they want, because I'll just rest in the shade of their tears! :)  (Yeah couldn't help the 300 pun) :) LOL    If you don't want to multi-box, don't, but don't make others play your game when others aren't trying to make you play theirs.

The only way to truly fix exploiting in an MMO is to ban the exploiters.  Only way you are going to stop it.  No game can be 100% exploit free, there will always be "Kids" who have to try and cheat.  Some do it just to find the exploit and report the problem, and do not use it to level, then there are the people that just have to get to max level using the easiest way possible.  They normally chest thump and such..   Exploits are in all games, you'll never get rid of them all.  Just like a game will never be 100% bug free, you fix 1 bug, 2 more popup that the 1 was hiding.    Like I said, the only 100% way to get rid of exploiting is ban those that abuse it.  Trying to fix them all in the code, just will never happen.

Radical, Elysian, Starfish, and dang, yeah I am old some other names I can't remember now but may later! :) LOL  Radical and Starfish are not currently playing, but I got Elysian when they left the game during live and am playing Elysian now.  If he comes back to the game I would be more than willing to give up the name if they want it. :)

Want to thank you for ASSUMING how I mine.  (if you didn't catch the sarcasm, you need to get taller so things don't go over your head! :) )   Best thing they can do is go back to live and make hulk spawns rare.

With how easy it is to get credits, honestly, I see this being a non issue just as it was in the last year of Live.  I couldn't pay people to take a JS, unless we were doing a raid, but that is different.   People just towed, and got someone in guild, if they couldn't do it themself, rip and re-build their gear at 200%.   I can't say I really cared one way or the other.   Only way to change that attitude is to make towing unbearably costly, credits hard to come by, analyzing terribad even with your version of the analyze dance and sacrifice, and making items at 200% very rare.   I don't see a game like that being very fun at all.   Will they put in what you want?  Probably, but not to the degree you are wanting.   Just give it time, they are still tweaking things.

As a coder, sometimes a crash log will be overwritten when a restart happens.  Sometimes there is just information you can not get without looking at the crash when it happens.  Auto restarting the server can wipe these logs and then leave you with nothing to evaluate to fix the problem.  Yes, experience taught me that.   Sometimes users just have to trust the IT people who know what is going on.  We are doing what is the best with what we have.   I doubt the devs want to deal with an error log rather than killing tengu, so they want to get the game running as fast as possible.   Less people that have access to the server the better, especially in this type of environment.  One pissed off player could wipe out years of work with just a few keystrokes and a server restart.

I believe, and this is just my opinion and nothing else, those that shoot down the criticism are afraid that the devs will take it the wrong way and quit working on the game.   All I have to say about it is, if a developer can't handle a little criticism they shouldn't be in development at all.   Are there issues, YES, and you can shout that from the rooftops, and I am sure the developers know this.     The criticism, though, sometimes can be read, as we write the criticisms, with emotion that truly isn't in the criticism.  I am the first to admit I have done this at my job by reading an email from a user.  Sometimes you can tell the user is trying to slam you, but most of the time we do read emotion into words that isn't there.  I am also guilty of writing criticism that comes out as if I am just pissed at the world and you are totally wrong, and I am not pissed and probably laughing as I write the criticism.   TLTR version:  There are people out there scared devs will quit working on the game if all they hear is criticism.  It has to happen and let the devs decide when the criticism is over the top, and players should just play the game and enjoy scenery.

I have to say, that credits seem much easier in this game than when it was Live.   A few hours farming hulks and I can easily make over 1 mill credits farming debris, and that doesn't include the trade levels I'll get.   Don't have an explorer?  Nothing big, a few hours killing mobs with stackable loot, bio mobs are great for this, and so are the belters if you want a mechanical mob, and you won't get millions, but you'll get 100's of thousands in credits.   You will also get some drops of gear you may want to analyze.   Credits just don't drop without the necessary farming that is required to get them.  All MMORPGs have it.   If you are having issues with Credits, let me know, and I can give you a few places to farm stackable loot that you can then sell and get credits easily.

I have, umm, sorta, maybe taken a bit more dmg than my shields and hull allowed for, and when I towed/docked, I was charged a repair fee.   Looks as if some of it is already in game, maybe not all they have planned nor all you want, but then, do we need all that?

Have you tried to manually install the certificates?   Right click on the certificate, and then choose install, follow instructions from then on.

Follow Magoo's instructions to install the client and Net 7.  IF, and only IF you can not get into the game, you will need to do the following:   Set the Run as Administrator and run in compatibility mode Windows XP service pack 3.   You will need to know where you installed the EnB client, normally it is:   C:\Program Files(x86)\EA Games\Earth & Beyond\release   In this directory you will find a "client.exe" without the double quotes " ".   Left click on client.exe to select the file, you only need to single click this.  Double clicking will execute the file, which does no good. Right click the client.exe file, and then on the menu that pops up, scroll down and select the Properties option. When the Properties window opens up, look at the options in the tabs at the top.  Find the one that is labeled Compatibility, and click the label. You will see a Title of Compatibility, here you will want to check the box for, run in compatibility mode for: In the drop down box you will look for Windows XP Service Pack 3, and select that option. Now look for the Privilege level Title, in her you will check the box for Run as Administrator.   Now, this is very important, DO NOT forget this step. Click on the Apply button to SAVE these changes. Then click on the OK button to exit.   Now, you should do this for the Net-7 launcher also.   Find where you installed Net-7 unified installer, normally:   C\Program Files(x86)\Net7\Bin   Look for LaunchNet7.exe, and left click ONCE to select the file, then right click and follow instructions above to set run as administrator and compatibility mode.   IF, and ONLY IF you are still having issues, post back here and I'll tell you how to setup the game folder and the net7 folder to allow all users to access them.   No need in giving you more information than you need.  Lets take this one step at a time, and we will get you in game!!! :) which is what we all want.   If you need more help PM me or just post back in this thread.
