  1. Fishbowls used to be pure carnage, but it was loads of fun. In ST3 I could solo any boss in there with my PW and that's obviously not quite how it was in live. Not only would you die almost instantly in live but the bosses also had very high resistance to damage, in particular the master who it was virtualy impossible to kill without debuffing him even if you had 6 well geared groups fighting. //Wex
  2. If the stories about how some [DEV] have used their slash command powers ingame are true, then I belive it was a very good decision to strip them of their powers on the play server. Good call! //Wex
  3. "...and I will make your whole guild pay..." Anyway... Sums it up spot on. //Leandra
  4. I have spent a lot of time trying to get VMware player to work on Vista x64 with XP x32 as guest OS. I just cant get it too work. After a while I tried something different that turned out to work very well. I installed my XP on another hard drive and used that to run VMware with XP as guest OS. It seems as if XP host + XP guest is a winning combination, or atleast it was for me. It runs very smooth and VMware players 3D hardware acceleration works very well. I had this problem aswell. I solved it by changing the network settings. The default was 'NAT' which I changed to 'Bridged' with the 'Replicate' box ticked. After that I havent had any crashes. //Wex
  5. I first signed up with my old account name and password and I got the same error (yes it's activated and s on). I then created a new account (you can have 3 account with the same forum account btw) and it worked flawless. //Wex
  6. Obviously, as is the case when any game is being tested, most just want to play the game and of course they do not like to be wiped. I have no problem with the wipe personaly. But, as so many so eloquently have said, this in not a beta. It is a stress test and as such it must surely be beneficial to have as many as possible online so that the devs can weed out any lag and stability issues. To that end it should gain everyone to have as many as possible online, even those who just want to play rather than test. As it is now I think that we will see many quit since they dont want to start from zero again and while many seem to think 'good ridance', I cant see how this benefits anyone. This is why I suggested that there could be an option to start with pre made toons. //Wex
  7. To be honest, I do feel that there are some concerns with another wipe. Or perhaps not the wipe itself, but having people start over from zero. No matter how much we love this game, contatly starting from zero does bore a lot of people to death and I think that there is a risk that when we go live many will already be bored with EnB. I know that we are not even in beta yet, but this is situation is a bit unique sice we are dealing with a game that many of us have already played for years. When you are alpha/beta testing a new game, the novelty of the game can often make it ok to start over several times, but when it comes to a game that you already know virtually all about and where we have gone through the entire leveling several times already, it can get boring pretty fast. Now, it is of course easy to just tell averyone that if they dont like it, dont play it. The problem however is that its pretty pointless to have a stress test if the server isnt stressed so we need people to play. I do not for a second doubt that a wipe was needed now. But maybe, if the idea is to get as many as possible to play, there could be an option to start with pre made toons? This way you could get both those who doesnt want to level again and those that embrace the wipe to play. This will of course only work if there is another wipe after ST4 which I assume there is. //Leandra
  8. I think I will try a JD, the only class I never played in live. Might even try dualboxing it with a JE or JS. //Wex
  9. People speculate because there is no information to go on. We are here to get our EnB "fix" aswell and like any other addicts we get a bit nervous without our "drug". To fair though, I dont think there are many that complain about downtimes/crashes/wipes. People just get a bit frustrated when they do not know what is going. It's natural to be honest... //Leandra
  10. "Hey, I got a question! When will there be a wipe?" Seriously, if I see that question one more time in the chat ingame I think I'll vomit. People take this way too serious and worry too much. So what if you got an xp debt? I'm not a fanboy. I'm not saying the devs are flawless; a tad more communication wouldn't hurt. But really, just chill and enjoy the game. If there is something happening that you dont want to be a part of, log off. It's that simple. //Wex

    Turbo

I might be wrong, but I think that turbo worked in two different ways in live. At first it reduced the delay between each shot by the same % as the turbo. This was later changed since the dps increased exponetially and that led to absolutely silly dps (although it was limted to some extent by the fact that reactors couldnt handle it). It was changed so the a certain % turbo increased your dps with the same amount. Some examples: Assuming you have a gun that fires every two seconds without any turbo. Original turbo. 50% turbo => 100% increase in dps, fires one shot each 1.0 second 90% turbo => 1000% increase in dps, fires one shot each 0.2 second "Nerfed" turbo. 50% turbo => 50% increase in dps, fires one shot each 1.33 second 90% turbo => 90% increase in dps, fires one shot each 1.05 second. //Wex
  12. Whats working? A lot more than I would have imagined! Except for some bug it feels pretty much like playing in live. You should definately check it out. //Wex
