  1. Kyp, Thank you for the response, and the time you put into the game. I like this game, though I haven't played in awhile. I point people to it, when ever I see a post inquiring about space MMOs.
  2. Per a post I made elsewhere. How hard would it be to set up a decay timer on asteroids that were acceseed, but not completly mined? Heres an example: I'm out mining, and because I don't want to fill up my cargo spots with low level ores, I just leave them on the asteroids.   So now along come "Crazy mining dude". He sees a feild of lev 5 asteroids, and is happy to finally to get to working mining. He hits a few of the 'roids and finds that they only have low level ores in them.   Hence why I am asking if it would be possible to despawn an asteroid that only had some of the ore removed? Maybe set it up so the timer is one minute?
  3. I know in World of Warcraft [I know this isn't WOW], that if a player has started mining a nod, and another player comes along and tries mining the same node, they get a message saying they can't.   Now for a player just "cherry" picking, and not clearing nodes, could a decay timer be activated on that node? Meaning after, lets say 2 minutes, that node that was "cherry picked" decays and is replaced by a full node. Many players had complained about this in WOW. That miners were cherry picking mining nods and leaving "trash" and just taking the good stuff. So the devs established a timer for the nodes, and they decay after a set amount of time after being accessed and not completly harvested.   I understand the first come, first serve approach. It's a popular trend in all the MMO's I play. Mostly it's ok, as it seldom interfers with my game play, but there are times where it's frustrating. But like life, I just learn to deal with it, and take a moment to reflect on how happy things are. ;)
  4. Hi, I'm curious as to if there are any guides as to what skills I should steer clear from, and what skills I should put my points in.   For example: If I have a Trader, then my other two toons shouldn't have to build engines, correct? Also my enforcer could build weapons and ammo for the other guys as well?   Thank you for the suggestions/advice.
  5. I had forgotten the "surprises" that maybe inside of an asteroid.  I started up a Terran Scout today,  and a handful of times, had the asteroid I was mining explode. Sometimes it did nothing to my ship, except weaken the shields. Another time, it actually disabled my ship, my shields were down from a couple of MOBs.  A third time, a critter spawned and disabled my ship.  Interestingly enough, a couple of days ago I started a Progen Explorer. I don't recall having any of those issues in it's starting area. But I didn't mind, as it made prospecting a tad more interesting.   Now maybe, if these things would also explode and give you a chance to recover a "hidden" artifact, like what you suggested. Maybe some metal junk, or other random tradeable item. Maybe on some rare cases, how about a data cube with a Devs name on it, or a notable player, for a memorial, or a nod for their help? Of case the item would be sold at a trade booth.
  6. I know that part. I was wondering how you used it to maximize a window. But I figured it out after 5 minutes [I had other things going on at the time].
  7. Just wanted to say thank you for keeping this game going.   also a Thank you to those in New player chat that gave me some helpful advice today. And A Thank you to the terran trader that took time and showed me the nav point point I was looking for.
  8. Hi, First time user, first post ;) I am running Windows 8 on a laptop that is connected to a 46" 1080p TV. Here are a few things I noticed trying to follow the suggestions:   When I go looking for:   Net7/bin folder: I find the following:   Detours.exe - Launcher.exe - LaunchNet7.exe - net7proxy.exe in my Net7 bin, I find that I don't have Launcher.exe. I do have the other 3.   Detours.exe:  Has XP service pack 3 for compatibility. LaunchNet7 only has compatability options for Vista [all service packs] and win7. Nothing for XP. Net7proxie has XP service pack 3 for compatibility.       I then go to my game install folder and look for the following:     C:\Program Files/(x86 if 64bit)\EA Games\Earth & Beyond\Character and Starship Creator\Character and Starship Creator.exe [folder/file not found. Because I didn't download it. Is it needed to get the game to work properly? I logged in and was on a station, seemed to be fine]. C:\Program Files\EA Games\Earth & Beyond\EBCONFIG E&BConfig.exe / net7config.exe / VIDTEST.exe [I think this was written "wrong" C:\Program Files\EA Games\Earth & Beyond\EBCONFIG\  then look for *.exe files in folder] C:\Program Files\EA Games\Earth & Beyond\release client.exe C:\Program Files\EA Games\Earth & Beyond ColorChange.exe e&b.exe gpatch.exe patch.exe     E&BConfig.exe Has XP service pack 3 compatibility net7config.exe has XP service pack 3  compatibility VIDTEST.exe has XP service pack 3 compatibility   As LaunchNet7 [only has compatability options for Vista [all service packs] and win7. Nothing for XP]. is the only one without XP service pack 3 compatibility, is that causing the issue with not being able to full screen the game?   I really don't want to go through the registry editing key values.
