Seems it is acting up again. Login Server Offline Cant dock at stations unless warped to them. Cant dock on stations on planets due to not being able to warp.

I dont understand how any of you thought having that many accounts...then making group gate....would result any other way.......??????????

Since this thread keeps getting posts stripped from it...I am going to post my thoughts.   At some point we were only allowed 3 accounts and only allowed to log in once per account, but could have all three on at once, grouped and playing with each other from the same IP.   I took a break after LIVE and when I came back we could have MANY MORE accounts and they could ALL BE ONLINE at one time.   After a patch a few weeks ago we were able to group gate, stay in formation and regroup on other side of gate. I had great confidence in the DEVS and saw this a plus to the EnB community and an example of what could be possible for future enhancements.   Shortly ater the feature was added people found a way to exploit it by gating through faction gates as a leader that the others in the group would not be able to go through naturally.   A patch was added to stop that. The DEVS made it so you had to be of the correct faction, regardless of leader, to go through the gate. The DEVS acted quick with patch and it seemed to be resolved.   With the next weeks update the DEVS made a patch so that same IP's could not group gate anymore. They realized that people were creating many characters and making full groups to use the auto gate feature to gain as much explore XP as possible using the auto gate feature       My concern is...did anyone even realize this was going to happen? Do any of the devs even consider the exploiters in all the games we play and just didnt even feel this could happen?   Have the Devs ever played or developed for other games to know the extent of how far players will go to take advantage of the system?   When the group gating feature was added I ASSUMED they had considered what could happen and weighed it in their decision to add the group gating feature.   I have lost my confidence in the devs decisions for not thinking this would happen and then killing it the way they have after they implement it.   I absolutely love this game and love what has been made possible from the hard work of the DEVS. But the decision making for how the players will handle the game play is not in their skill set.   You want to see how far people will go to exploit a game like this...go see the SWGEmu forums and check out the archives. I have been involved with that game for too many years and see the worst behaviors for finding any angle they can to exploit any feature from any game to give them selves and advantage.   Never underestimte the ammount of effort  player will take to take advantage of ANY GAME!

getting the same here.   Maybe check with the hosting company and see if there is some crazy network activity they can see that may not even be coming from this server?   I always have a command prompt open with it pinging sunrise.net-7.org while I play this game. When I start to get disconnected at gates I will also see dropped pings.  Always during the 12:00 EST lag I see a few dropped pings to the server.

From what I understand the 500 limit is a "soft target" the server can take more, they just have it set at 500. TL;DR

I need to know what skills stop Hull Patch. I am a TS grouped with my TE. I have Hull Patch level 3 (Allows other ships to be repaired) I try to patch my hul or anyone elses hull and get the message... "Another skill is active, please wait or cancel' Please wait or cancel what? We have After Burner and Increase Warp Speed (from L4 Kraken) and Firing Tactics (from Rally 5 on TE) What skills are blocking me from using hull patch? This is driving me crazy and I want to spend points in the skill but went through this with afterburners turnd on on thought that was fixed?

I love it when I am prospecting...makes clearing the field a lot faster

I found the EMU through a google search. Another of my favorite games was doing an EMU so I thought I would search for an EMU for ENB. Found it and was so happy! Didnt follow it too closely but checked every year or so to see if anything was happening. About 2-3 years ago finally made a character and have been here off and on but always come back *NOTE* I really shouldn't post so late at night..originally posted wrong info in this thread.

[/quote] something you will find with most older games and Vista/7 is you have to run the exe's as administrator. for this specific issue follow these instructions: 1. Browse to the exe 64 bit C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\EBCONFIG\E&BConfig.exe 32 bit C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\EBCONFIG\E&BConfig.exe 2. right click the file and go to properties 3. Click "Compatability" tab 4. Choose "Run as Administrator" 5. Click OK **note** sometimes you may also need to set "Run this program in compatability mode" and set to XP SP2 or SP3 I suggest doing this for EVERY exe in the E&B folder to avoide future issues. Now when you run the program it will save the settings and should use the resolution you chose.

Thanks for the reply Stoop. I was hoping to find a safe route..I am not looking to get them as much XP as I can but at least them started with the routes from sector to sector. The safer the route the better to avoid an issues with new players and thier first experiences with the server and the community.

I see new players asking for tours and there doesn't seem to be many higher level players offering them. Most nights I need a distraction from what I am doing and would like to run new player tours from time to time. Does anyone have an efficient route they have used for doing tours for new players? I dont think I want to go to every marker in every sector, but mainly just the through points so the new players can later explore the sector on their own and finish off the nav points themselves.
