  1. I remember, about a year ago, when the PW was "nerfed." I know two people who quit the game because of it. I even remember a dev posting to another player that "having a PW doesn't mean you push the 'I win' button." Well, somehow, PW players survived and did quite well once they got used to the adjustments. I suspect JD players will do the same.
  2. I play my JE in raids. I don't do much damage, but that is not my job. Think of each ship as a tool. Every tool has its place, part of a team. You want to do damage? Don't play a JE. You want to do crowd control or buff or heal? Don't play a PW. That's not its job in raids. Does it really bother you that much?
  3. No one needs a JE in a raid group for DPS, so the hell with the oomph. Their shield leech and reactor recharge, combined with the crowd control of fold space make them valuable as it is. The game is set up so that every character has its place, and a JE certainly has its place. Someone has to be the wimp of the galaxy, and it's the JE. Who the hell plays a JE for combat anyway? I have a good deal of fun just mining or playing support in a group. I can solo well enough when needed. The day a JE can take down a lv 58 in close to the same time a warrior can is the day the game is truly unbalanced. I have no issue killing something my level on my JE. If I am in a true killing mood, I'm certainly not riding around in my JE. I know I can't fight as well with my JE, but I also know that the game is set up that way, and frankly, I don't care. I can do anything I need to do with my JE. That's good enough for me.   What the heck does PvP have to do with any of this?   I think I know that a JS only has four mounts...so does a PS, eh? I can solo well enough on my PS, I'm sure I can do the same on a JS...I have so far.
  4. Grandmasters don't need four mounts. We're not supposed to be combatants. You want to fight, play a warrior class. I think the JE, with the ability to mount six devices, is, outside of combat, the most versatile of the characters in the game. And played correctly, with cloak and fold space, damn near impossible to kill. JE's don't run out of energy, and I've had my sig as low as -0.6. I rarely get touched in raids, even while spamming shield leech. My JE has died twice in the past six months, both times to pop rocks.   As for the PW, they are supposed to be the bad asses of the galaxy. While I can solo just fine with him, I can still solo just as well on my JD, and in some cases have a better chance of survival, since the JD can pull off the same cloak/fold space skills that a JE can. Sure you'll see a good number of PW's on raids. Someone has to be the tank, right? It sure as hell won't be the JD. The JD's summon skill alone make him worth being in most groups.   However, I do agree that Jennie beams can use some love. We're supposed to be the best with them. Add a few buffs. Make good ones a bit easier to get. I still know a lot of players with lv 9 beams using ruby disruptors, like one of my Jennies. I find it much easier to get the top of the line weapons for Progens and Terrans then I do for Jennies. I think it is even more important for Jenquai to get those top end weapons, since Jenquai are limited to damage types (no explosive, no chemical, no impact, and who really uses EMP beams?).   Maybe a special mission that allows one Jennie class to get lv 9 projectiles? I am experimenting with projectiles on my JS since I don't need him for build skills. The Jennie is quite an effective combatant with projectile weapons, since power is not an issue. You might also see more versatility in the game as far as ship diversification. Just a thought.
  5. I let my brother play around with my Privateer, and he decided to do me a "favor" by doing my lv 135 HU on my PP. Of course, I was in the middle of doing Agrippa. Does this mean I'm now locked out?
  6. I had a pic of an Anglerfish but it was too big to upload, so I settled for a Goliath Grouper.....actually, considering the true sizes of the fish (Anglerfish tops at under a meter, weighing maybe 15 kg, while the grouper mentioned could reach close to 3 meters and close to 400+ kgs) I'd rather meet the Anglerfish in real life.
  7. ...and here is a REAL Ten-Gu, complete with fishbowl...
  8. Great... I'll be mining and get jumped by a bunch of Progens who want to haul me off to D.C.O., lol!
  9. My PW has the same set up except I'm using a Reaver instead of the spitter, and I find about the same results compared to my TE. When the PW uses all his skills, it's no contest.
  10. I think people are overthinking PvP.   Why do we need new equipment? The gear we have is good enough to kill mobs...it's good enough to kill each other. I PvP'ed in Anarchy Online, Delta Force, Asheron's Call, City of Heroes...there was no special PvP gear that I recall.   Flagging someone for PvP keeps it an option. If you don't want to do it, don't do it. Simple. Other games have done the same and it works.   Fear of getting ganked? Then don't play PvP, because you will get ganked eventually. Hell, I expect to get ganked in PvP. But I also expect to test my skill against superior odds. We know how a mob will act. We have little idea of how a real person will act.   Fear of losing gear? Make PvP no looting.   I find it hard to believe that a hard core EnB player hasn't at least wondered how one raid group would do against another in open combat within a whole sector.   And what if some snot-mouthed kid wants to taunt me after I die? So what? He killed pixels on a screen. I've died over 5,000 deaths anyway in PvP games, a few more won't bother me. It's just a game....repeat, it's just a game.     And yes...get the PvE content up first...top priority.
  11. I like this. Challenge is good for the soul.
  12. Got it. I flew to the pirate gate but it didn't update. I warped out and did it again. It updated the second time.
  13. I can't imagine they would send someone to the pirate base. I did find a group of lv 8 RD's but they are way too low for this mission. I've had issues with this particular toon for some reason when it comes to completing missions. Weird. I'll try your suggestion, that didn't cross my mind.
  14. I got this from the Deschide Porata talk tree. I'm at part 2 where I have to go north of nav Modi Path 1 to find the culprits, but I've impulsed and warped my way all around that area and found nothing. What am I missing?
  15. I'm pulling for the Eagles, game is great.   Server status, not so great :(
  16.  I don't have BILLIONS of credits...I'd like to meet those people and hit them up for a loan or two.
  17. You're welcome Pakk. Now get started on the next story!! I think the stories flesh out the game universe in an interesting and thoughtful way.
  18.   Nic and I took it to a nice private conversation. No dirty laundry or trash talking, just want to see what few differences we have. I am certain everyone wants a fair and equitable solution that would benefit the entire player base.
  19.   Epic Gamers has already shown that they can do the raids, so put the capability argument to rest. Maybe they can't get together every single time, but they can certainly do them. Why not have them in the rotation? If for some reason they can't do a raid (for whatever reason) some other guild can jump in and do it. It's not rocket science. Are you saying that if a guild can't do it as per schedule that they can't be in the rotation? Gee, do you have any other conditions too???   As for raid jumping, have you address the officers of EG? Perhaps you have, as I haven't been on much lately for real life reasons. I'm an officer in EG, and no one has ever said a word to me about this issue. I do know that the times I have been on, no trash talking about any guild has been taking place, and that the members of EG are patiently waiting for the decision.   Also, if a bunch of people, random or otherwise, want to do a raid and fail, who the hell cares? it's a game--a game--nothing more. I see people argue about this like it's national policy. Really?
  20. If 12 random players got together and proved that they could do the raids, would they be put into the rotation if they wanted to be put in?
  21. A low level version of the Ivory Ward, lv 4 device, with +15 to deflects instead of +40. Call it the Ivory Deflector.
  22. Hmm, locked up in game, had to restart my computer, and now can't log in.
  23. I wanted a name suitable for a true Jenquai (JE) believer. I studied Latin, and Vitaes is an old Latin form of Vitae, or life. Vitae is also a term from my favorite MMO ever, Asheron's Call, so I decided to simply go with Vitaes, as it looked more normal for a name. As for my PW, Doberman...well, after I kicked my mentally unbalanced bitch girl friend out of my first house, I wanted a companion that could take care of the place while I was working and give me a reason to get out and stay in shape. I got a dog, a Doberman. His name was Brutus, but I think someone had that name in game at the time, so I simply named myself Doberman. Kind of fits with the whole Dog Soldier Progen thing too. He was my good buddy for almost 15 years. He saved my property too. One night I woke up to find his paws on my chest, barking like a madman. Half asleep, I followed him to the back door. My shed and trees behind the shed were on fire. About 3 seconds later the half gallon of gas I had in the shed went up. I called the fire department, and they stopped the fire from reaching the house. I'll never be without a dog. Best and most loyal pet ever.
