Xipe Totec was always an interesting sector, so as I recreate it I wonder: What was your favorite memory from Xipe Totec? my favorite memory from Xipe Totec was wandering around the radiated area scavenging for hulks when I got attacked by a manes that was a much higher combat level than me. I tried to warp away but the manes hit me so hard it interrupted my warp. Just then one of my friends flew by, but they must have been afk warping through Xipe. I yelled "SAVE ME!!!!" but they didn't respond. Very comical moment.

    relax guys, we haven't put any resources into developing this idea, I just thought it was interesting. it would not affect players and it would only affect certain few mobs, not all mobs with missiles and as far as realism goes, generally missiles are powered by fuel and upon launch they will not be at their top speed. Because the fuel lost is not the warhead it would have little impact on the damage but I could see a faster moving missile being more dangerous as it slams into the shields or hull of its target. That's my interpretation of it anyway.

    and this would be incentive to fight those few mobs that try to kite. They would be at a disadvantage at close range. You could view it more like a Jenquai's version of kiting, except that anyone can do it. I thought of it this way, sometimes mobs will have a beam to fire at short range and a missile at long range. By kiting and staying out of the range of the beam, long range attackers will take less damage. There is a defensive advantage to staying far away from a mob, but never any defensive advantage to getting close.
  7. so as of right now, attacking a mob at the longest range you can manage either means that mob will do the same damage or less damage depending on the range of the mobs weapons. Attacking at range could also help you avoid some of the mob's skills. What if some mobs using missiles did less damage at short range so it would be beneficial to get in the mob's face? The mob would try to run away to get to it's preferred range but if you stayed in it's face you would have an advantage. Just wanted to throw this idea out there
  8. remember the asylum shields had the net-7 news visual effect around it and were a reward for writing contests in live. The effect probably doesn't work yet but either way it shouldn't be dropping. maybe in the future we could use it for something similar.

  11. The fields might be gone because they've been depleted by other players or they haven't been added yet. Pop rocks are still a work in progress and because of the way asteroid fields are structured right now they will never be quite the same way as live. Not sure it will stay that way but the way the fields work right now is you have to clear all the roids before the field will respawn, after a timer has passed. Back in live asteroid fields respawned gradually. The advantages of the way it works now is that players can't sit in the same fields and mine until they get tired. There is more need to switch fields and a more fluctuating supply. The advantages of the other way is you don't have to switch fields if you don't want to. There is less need to go out and find other fields. Some players find this more relaxing.

  15. drop rate on the Tradesman's Source and Enforcer's Plant have been reduced. Changes will be seen in the next content update. they were dropping at 40% so no wonder there were so many floating in space.

  18. Right now there are 58 players online about 5 or 6 of them are multiboxed characters so its roughly around 50. This is about as low as it goes with the max being around 200. at our website you can see how many players are online and if you click the online button by the Net-7 logo it will show you how many players have been on recently. http://net-7.org/index.php welcome back
  19. what a great suggestion! I think we'll get over the clunky numbers thing pretty quickly and that players will just see it as part of the interface. [u]It actually breaks the fourth wall less if the number hovers next to their name instead of them saying the number.[/u] They shouldn't acknowledge the number because to them it doesn't exist. It's not like the floating name above the vendor's head is actually there, it's just part of the game interface. As far as development goes, it would be difficult to change the sign but very very easy to change the floating name to include the level.
  20. I reduced the spawn down to 1 because the haywires were grouping up and ganking JEs so it might be something with mob AI that caused them to wander away. since there's less of them now it's more likely that one of them won't be where they should.

  22. It's a sticky situation but here's my reasons arguing for SS8's removal 1. It wasn't supposed to be there because it was a developer mistake. 2. It doesn't make sense for it to be there due to storyline. 3. It has only been there a short while (where hulkfest was months and months ago) 4. It's easy to do (arguing with us about this is feasibly taking more development time) 5. We don't play favorites (but I think everybody knows that)
