  1. seems like a short list ... oops try "netstat -ao" instead of "netstat -o". The "a" is for all connections. As far as seeing 5 digit port numbers, that is pretty normal, my example was only the first few lines on this computer.
  2. I have to agree it wouldn't fit well into the game lore or balance. However, as far as difficulty, I ran into a bug that merged my deleted defender with a newly created privateer. So I had a progen privateer that could cloak and had a head-start in a few system skills.
  3. Its possible another application is using those ports, besides the usual suspects that you have already turned off (antivirus, instant messengers, etc). I hope this isn't too technical, but here goes. open a command window (In most windows installations go to the start menu -> run -> type "cmd" without quotes -> press the enter key type "netstat -o" without quotes press the enter key the output should looks something like this D:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.SMILODON>netstat -o Active Connections Proto Local Address Foreign Address State PID TCP smilodon:1043 localhost:1044 ESTABLISHED 2708 TCP smilodon:1044 localhost:1043 ESTABLISHED 2708 TCP smilodon:1048 localhost:1049 ESTABLISHED 56 TCP smilodon:1049 localhost:1048 ESTABLISHED 2708 TCP smilodon:1119 localhost:12080 ESTABLISHED 1 *lines ommited* notice the "local address" column. For instance "smilodon:1043" the :1043 is the port look for rows that list :3801 and :3500 If you find rows that do, write down the number in the "PID" column. If not then skip the rest, its not an issue of another application using that port. For instance, If I had a problem with port 1049 I would write 2708 now lets see which program that is open the "task manager" (start menu -> click on the "run" button -> type "taskmgr" without quotes -> hit the enter key click on the "process" tab in the view menu -> click on "select columns" click on the check box next to "PID (Process Identfier), if it isn't already checked. click the "OK" button look through the table until you find the "PID" you wrote down earlier the rest depends on what you find. You could just right click on that row and select "end task" from the context menu or if you recognize it, you could close that application normally if you have no idea what it is, you could ask here, someone else may recognize it.
  4. Have you tried to make an gmail account and register through that?
  5. In order for Net7 to patch the game client, it needs to look through every file in the earth and beyond client install. That is why it lists all those files when it updates. It only modifies a few of them, however. Moreover the reason we can't just have the Net7 launcher download everything is because it would make it far to easy for EA to shut the emulator down. As far as registering an account, you can sign up here http://net-7.org/stresstest/signup.php.
  6. Have your run checkdisk lately? It has been reported to fix this issue in some cases. To do so Open my computer -> right click on the drive you installed the emulator -> select properties from the context menu -> select the tools tab -> click on the check now button.
  7. Quick question, are you running Net7 launcher as an admin? If not I'd suggest to try that and then manually select install certificate from the menu.
  8. I'm sorry to hear that, however, you require someone with GM access to fix this. To reach a GM, either post on the GM forums or ask for one in-game on an alt. For reference that issue is generally called a "blackholed character" and isn't all that uncommon. I hope that helps.
  9. It appears your Net7 launcher is pointing at "\Earth & Beyond\e&b.exe" instead of "\Earth & Beyond\release\client.exe". To fix this double click on the short cut to the Net7 Launcher -> click on the browse -> navigate to "\Earth & Beyond\release\client.exe". Note the \Earth & Beyond\ folder's location is wherever you told the enb client to install, by default that is the system folder "program files".
  10. Hmm, does the Net7proxy, the dos windows behind the earth and beyond client, list any errors?
  11. As far as when you clicked on it that it just opens the text file, it sounds like the file was still .txt instead of .bat. For instance "Net7.bat.txt" instead of "Net7.bat" . You may need to go to folder options and un-select "hide extensions of known file types" for you to see it. You may wish to check out this thread as well, has the same issue. Especially marco's suggestion to repair / upgrade your .Net framework.
  12. Yes, both of those suggestions work on both Windows Vista and Windows 7.
  13. I'd suggest you try Marco's fix here. It has a newer version of LaunchNet7.cfg. Beyond that you could bypass the Net7Launcher completely with scootermagoo's workaround
  14. I thought, this post had been forgotten. I updated it with some more info, though it still isn't as good as the guide on the previous forums.
  15. Some people have reported issues with the registration email being filtered, have you looked in your junk mail folder for it? If that doesn't work, try opening a gmail account. I know personally that the email goes through with that service. I hope that helps, paragon out.
