A lot of what was suggested by the players in our PvP threads is reminiscent of the Original games Arena, WITH the exception unlike the Orbs the "Metals Of Valor" can be accumulated and turned in for PvP specific equipment. Test your mettle, and find out where you rank! Seek out registration beacons in Glenn, Carpenter, and Slayton sectors to join the Nova Games! The Nova Gladiatorial Games are separated into three divisions, so that pilots of varying skill can compete with others who are of equal ability. Participants can register in Glenn (levels 0-49), Carpenter (levels 0-99), and Slayton (levels 0-150) sectors, and will compete in 15-minute contests against up to five other teams. Each team can have up to six members, for a possible maximum of 36 players in each contest.   Players collect orbs throughout the arena by mining and using their tractor beams, or by destroying members of other teams and taking the orbs they've collected. Orbs can be deposited into goals, which are placed around the arena, which will then score points for the player's team.   There are several types of orbs, and each type is worth a different amount of points. Players can carry as many orbs as their cargo hold can handle (they don't stack), but should remember that while they are carrying many orbs, they become a target for other teams. (Players carrying orbs have a visible marker placed on their ship.) Orbs can be placed in a goal by flying near the goal, and the orbs are then removed and converted into points for the player's team. There are also a number of special occurrences (called "Kahn's Will") that will take place during matches, which make temporary changes to the rules and procedures.   Players can use most of their skills and any equipment during the Games. Also remember that each arena has a different configuration, thus making the challenges more varied. Each arena also contains a handful of "Kahn's Weapons," which may cause various interesting effects during the match. Participants will not lose experience during the matches, and their items will not degrade. Ammunition will not be expended, though you must have at least one unit of an ammo type to fire the comparable weapon. The winning team of every match will be awarded experience. Player ships cannot be looted if they are destroyed, though if the player is carrying any orbs, those will be ejected from his ship if it is destroyed.   To join a match, first travel to the Arena Entry Point in your chosen sector (Glenn, Carpenter, or Slayton). Once you get to the Arena Entry Point, you can get the contest rules and registration information by chatting with the Nova Arena Registrar. To register, follow the Registrar's instructions - ONE member of your group registers the entire group by targeting the green Registration Beacon. All the registrant has to do is target the green Registration Beacon and wait for confirmation. The entire group will then be registered. You can also cancel registration by targeting the red Cancellation Beacon.
  3. Our game has so much potential, and it has remained largely untapped. I truely believe that elective PvP with a minmum of 3 PvP sectors will open a new level of game play excitment.

PvP/Vrix can only attack other PvP/Vrix? 1 Vrix ship per IP address? 1 Day a month PvP in select sector? (29th) Phorlaug can clone and then shoot himself?

  9. Oh cool math ! Thanks I would still like to be well within the 50% range. Would some of you think that a JD driving in a raid would be suicide ? I would love to see the code for that Zackman. NOT ! :P
  10. JD One of my favorite subjects. (I'm going to get naked here) My numbers are inline with what you are stating, my tactics are pretty close to the same. My tactic do differ from solo to group. Fire-cloak is standard.   I still hold the belief that a group of cloaked Jenquai in follow with beam range below 50% is deadly in a raid, with the Progen and Terran heads on fight as the aggo magnets.   I do have Max Energy Leech and The Martyr's Heart (I rarely use or install). There is a right time to use the Energy Leech and with the right Targets in the right position. I use Energy Leech on new targets when my reactor is low. It seems that the NPC I have been shooting at acquire me much faster than a New target/Mob.   One weapon I wish I had is the Emerald Devastator, I blame myself for not playing enough and not having the beam.   The GoD would be nice for group raiding but not for my solo play. I do like having the higher reload beam in the first shortcut slot, although I do spam the CC.   So while my beams are still ticking DPS I'm ready to inflict initial base damage from the same beams that are still ticking damage ! Sometimes you got to have nerves of steel. I so want to use EMP but without a visibly seeing the reaction and drain effect on the NPC's reactor I won't use them.   So currently I'm running: 2-DP 2-EoD 1-DG DPS=23974 DPM=1,438,440   In a nutshell
  11. I have to say I have been with this game and community and other EnB website emulator developers for a very long time, your review is one of the better ones I have had the pleasure to watch. I believe it was complimentary to the community and developers. Well done.
  12. Yes. Controls and activations. Log in you character at the top of your HUD Click -->options--->Controls or activations and change the key board commands or mouse clicks to what ever suits you. When the game was live in EA's hands I do remember trying a joy stick, I didn't care for it.   Population. The population will get bigger with your and everyone else that gives referrals to the game. We can not take out adds or advertise.
  13. The description is in my original Excel file: Resist Psionic (Equip)  +30.0 Psionic Resist when equipped L4=+20 L5=+23 L6=+26 L7=+30   I got a message in to see if we can get it added/fixed or remove the typo. But they may of decided not to add the buff. (Be careful what you ask for) :)

  15. I bet if there was a complete line of items for the new races there would be a fervor for playing the new classes. Matching name prefix of items that complement each other. New items.
  16. +1 I can't add anything I haven't already said BUT... :)  I Vow to do be the very best Defender I can be in PvP and help anyone (Race or Profession) in my group get the most Explore XP in the PvP zone/area.   The DEVs have done and will continue to do their best to make the NPC AI more of a challenge, BUT they will never be able to give the NPCs the combination of intelligence, flaws, unpredictability and unseen spontaneity of a living breathing human being. UNLESS one of the DEVs can create an AI of that of Skynet, in which case we are all screwed !   An NPC in the PvP zone/area to provide a call forward with the appropriate device from Arx Spartoi, may be needed. (Down the road) I guarantee that your skill tree will be different, make it easier for the people that want to try PvP and switch back again.   Seriously, just open the flood gates in 3 new sectors, we'll smooth out the rough edges for everyone as we go. How long has it been 7-10 years with PvE? PvP could take just as long or longer, it won't be perfect out of the bag nor was PvE. How worried can someone be that their Item might suffer a dent or ding. By now a lot of the people have at least 1 or maybe 2 characters with the current end game items or can build them or have the billion credits to buy it.   Hell here's an idea. why don't we give one or all three of the new classes the skill or ability to restore an item to 100% quality (Loot only) and to 200% for buildables IF that Class has the Build skill and Level. Make it insanely expensive regardless of the level, 5-10 million for every 1% !   Worried about the braggers and shit talkers ? Zero tolerance Ban them ! I expect to get incapacitated and die in battle, thats what we do now in PvE, there will just be someone smarter behind the ships controls that your shooting at !
  17. I see were we're going, instead of another skill set the Seekers devices are their new skills. The same could be done for the other new classes, if it is easier.   But, I'm thinking that a new skill would be easier than implementing a bunch of new devices. I could be wrong. ??
  18. I'll put forth an idea.   "Hull Penetration" (Offensive and Defensive)   Defensive, add actual hull hit points to user and players. Not Damage control ! Offensive, Weaken NPC hulls by a percentage or set number, at higher levels make NPC more susceptible to chemical attacks.

  20.  +1 I multibox too, and unfortunately it looks like its here to stay. Raid leaders could just ask to please leave the alts at base, most players will be happy to do that.   Now on my 150+ raid suggestion. The Lag/Rendering does not become a bigger problem until all the separate groups become within range of each others scan and viewing area.   If one group(s) fails to keep the reinforcement adds to its spawn site, then the raid itself is a fail. Enemy Group Summons, Engine Hack and Gravity link become key to this raid.   Also there is one or two sectors that have much fewer entities (static and dynamic), the creation and the opening of "Taloc" (Spelling) or ANY NEW sector could be designed around this premise and optimized for a larger raid.   But then again I could be wrong.
  21. Oh hell yea ! I'll take a device for Group Psionic shield Buff, but I'm sure the Aggro would go up with it. What Ully was thinking would be cool <---as a skill tree shoot off.

  23. Here's a new Raid that will require 4-6 groups. I used Fenris as a example but it could be done in any sector you see fit. I also used the Bio-Rippers(etc) as the NPC in this raid. :)   The raid will start at one Nav for the activation, With two other spawn locations for the reinforcements in the defense of the Base or Compound.   Two of the groups will try to prevent the reinforcements from reaching the Activation Base. One group will try to stop the Adds from Akara's Tear from reaching the base and the other group will try to stop the adds from The "Moon Fragment" northwest of Nav Fenris 7 from reaching the base. Shoot to kill, Summons and Hack their Engines, anything to stop them from getting there !   Mob levels 58-66. Upon the failure of stopping the Reinforcements, the shields of the Activation Base will be recharged !
