Hi, Me again, apparently over a year ago there was an update that affected my ability to play my beloved E&B game normally. I have been blaming my SP but after exhaustive research and many attempts to reinstall and reconfigure the game on both Windows 7 professional and Windows 8.1 professional, separate computers, one using ATI graphics and the other Nvidia graphics I still have the same issue with the game slowly turning to thick sludge over a relatively short period of time if I stay in one zone and infinite loading if I jump to another sector. I did, however, make it from Carpenter to Akron gate yesterday before it locked up. WooHoo! What I am trying to say is that I believe that this problem can be fixed by changing some stupidly simple setting either in game or in the launcher What that setting is I do not know, but I know there must be other players in the USA that do not have this problem.

There are 3 major companies I have on my "Ban-List"....  AT&T, B of A (Bank of America) and DWP (Dept of Water & Power Los Angeles)  Got rid of the first two a couple years ago, the last one I have limited choices. But the ONE company I have kept off my list was Time Warner.... never had cable TV never wanted it, unfortunately my SP (Clear aka Sprint) shut off their service and my choices were Satellite , AT&T or Cable. The first wouldn't work because of the delay the second because ...well, same reason you have them on your list ..... these companies do not have any qualms about sticking their sticky fingers into your wallet and taking what ever they want. Worse part is no one can stop them, they have enough money to protect their interests....I noticed most of this thread is older posts so I guess you're right, that must be the issue....really sux   anyways thanks for the response.... I guess I'll just gather all my toons into one sector and play without gating or docking....    They should put a mob in game named " Tim E. Warner ". So I could kill it repeatedly....

Okay I have not read all this thread yet but saw this and had to reply. Previously I used a wireless router with a wired connection. Company called "Clear" that was bought out by Sprint and shut down.... (sound familiar ? ) So of course I had to bow down and get on the Time Warner wagon which is a wired cable connection to a modem which my computer is wired to now. Here's the rub.... with Clear my game ran fine no issues, gated smoothly, landed on planets and stations no problem. Now with the new connection I can't even warp, target stuff or anything without mega delay and rubberbanding and gating or landing or docking (except when I first log on) will freeze the game in the planet map screen every time! I play other more intensive games that are not an issue on this connection only this game gives me problems now. Tried the fix at thread's start which didn't help.

Found it in the "bin" file located in the Net7 program, deleted the one on the desktop, sent a new one to replace it, still does not appear on the desktop yet the Areo Peek desktop preview shows the E&B launcher window as if it was showing yet left clicking on it does nothing right click has same three options I mentioned before. Probably some stupid windows 7 upgrade that caused this to happen....Do I need to reinstall the game maybe ?   ........ or ..... Var forbid...... restart my computer...... *cringes*

Here's a new one.... when I clicked on the net 7 icon I got an update box... nothing unusual.... clicked update and the usual box asking if I wanted to view it came up, I said yes... then closed it .... only now the actual portal screen where the play button and other tools are is stuck in my task bar in the lower screen... left clicking on it does nothing.... right clicking on it brings up 3 options: Launch Net 7 (which opens up another "unseen" window in the task bar) .... "pin this program to taskbar"..... and "close window". It has worked flawlessly in Windows 7 up until now, I have not done anything major to the computer since I got it working a year ago...I did install one new game that uses a joystick (usb) and a mic (teamspeak) would that effect the launcher? any suggestions would be helpful... thank you. ....aeneA

[font="Georgia"]Hello everyone, I sort of grew up in gaming in a strategy game called "Edge of Chaos" where having multiple accounts was a big No-No. even tho many people did it no one ever spoke of it. However I have noticed both in live and here that it is common to see many toons of a single member on at the same time. To date I have only had one account with only 2 active chars. In live I was given access to a couple accounts from players in my guild leaving the game and it was fun to be able to be self supportive. As I continue to play I have found many of the players have become very natural with this multiple account thing. My only issue with it is you never can be sure who is who ... but aside from any of this rambling I have a question. There is plenty of posts on how to get the game up and running and create an account, but so far I have only found one item concerning multiple accounts and that's the rule that says you can have up to 3 with the same email address. My question is actually quite simple.... How do I make a second account under the same email address and/or forum name ? [/font]

This is just my opinion, but I play a lot of different games and the one underling factor of missions or quests is where the objectives can be viewed. In City of Heroes there is a place you can go to create your own missions publish them so other players can try them out and rate them. A major part of creating those missions is the dialogue. I fully understand what difficulties and time consuming operations are required to re create this wonderful game but I seriously think you guys are playing with our heads when you put the mission objectives into logs. Here are two examples from both sides of a war.. . . . . Terran Scout Draft Card mission.... Net 7 ...gets card ... goes to the npc to receive mission.. (here is where most gamers will just glance at the dialogue) ......... runs off to acquire 10 stacks of some processed ore ..... then figures out where this new ship she is supposed to take this to is and finds the contact and gets this message :" I need 500 of them " .... I open the mission log and all it says is deliver 10 to this contact. But before I go to all the trouble of mining and refining 490 more I learn from people who did this that there is something else I am missing which might be why he doesn't see the 10 stacks I brought him. This missing item is NOT in the logs ... it was only mentioned once buy the npc I received the mission from.... almost every mission in EnB does this and it's not just causing confusion it's making extra work for everyone to have to help players figure out what's wrong and why they can't finish it. Progen Warrior Draft Card mission .... Net 7 ... gets card .... goes to npc to receive mission.... (I learned today that taking a screen shot of the dialogue here is essential, even though I feel it shouldn't be necessary) .... figures out where she needs to go to get to her sides staging area arrives meets contact ...delivers the requested supplies no problem... gets next mission and is told to go kill two different ranks of Terran enemies... no problem .... I go out and find them and take out the first rank objectives open the log to see what the next rank to kill is and it reads ...and I quote ... " Step One: Kill Mobs!" .... and ... "Step Two: Kill Mobs!" I fell out of my chair laughing .... not at what it said but the purpose of even having a mission log if it's not going to contain any useful information. You have spent six years putting this game back together .... six long difficult years in your spare time away from your normal jobs and families .... and try as you might there is no way you will ever convince me that it is too difficult to type out a mission's objectives properly in the players logs where they should be in the first place ..especially important items needed to complete the mission. It would save everyone so much time and clear up so much confusion and frustration just to type (as an example)" Step One: Kill Two Ensigns" rather than " Step One: Kill Mobs" , Just a suggestion...

I seriously doubt that only one person has access, though there may only be one person who calls the shots.sort of like a group leader.

Does this mean the server failed the stress test?

That is the correct address you are seeing what you might try is the drop down arrow next to the server name or the host name I am having a problem with the upcode can anyone please tell me how to resolve this error code message? "Bad opcode through to Proxy: 0x%04x Length: 0x%x\n", opcode, length"

What do you do when you try logging in and you get this message in the data log after it times out and returns to Megan? "Bad opcode through to Proxy: 0x%04x Length: 0x%x\n", opcode, length" I got it to update and now i can't even get past "login ok" with a flashing cursor under it.
