I recieve the error "Server failed to respond to login attempt."

Recommended Posts

Hi, I created my account on enb and net-7, downloaded and installed all the game files without problem. Creating the account also worked nicely, but when I ran the net-7 launcher, I keep on getting a "Server failed to respond to login attempt."error message. I checked the FAQ, and seeing as how the launcher says that the server is online, I am writing here in the hope of getting some kind of help. I have read good things in the net about E&B, so I'd like to try it! :)

Sorry for the delay in answering i was at work,  a couple of things to check,  on teh net-7 launcher  in the client window  ensure that the path  points to the Enb client  mine says  C:\Program files (x96) \EAGAMES\Earth & Beyond\release\client.exe.

Always use teh net-7 client to start the game as it is what directs the game to the right places,  also  ensure that the following boxes are marked on the launcher:  Packet Optimization, Prototype reorder, Disable Mouse Lock, and DElete TH6 files.

also ensure that the Net 7 program and the EnB clients are set to Administrator Rights.

Well, thanks for the swift answer! Unfortunately, I did everything you told me, but I still receive the same "server failed to respond" error message.

Launcher (info):

Client:

Launcher (file):

So, I checked all the boxes in net-7 launcher client, and have made sure that both the E&B client and the launcher .exe have administrator rights. The client is in the right folder, and as a matter of fact I had no installation problems whatsoever. Any (additional) hints please?

EDIT: I have a spanish version of windows, hope it won't be too troublesome for you guys ;)

No, that's ok. Can you show us the actual error message being displayed? Are you behind a web proxy or anything of that nature?

No proxies or routers here Kyp, I have a standard ADSL modem connection. As for the actual error message:

But that will wait for 2015 hehe. Happy New Year to you folks! :D

EDIT: I forgot to tell that I added both executables to firewall exceptions and to the antivirus' "trusted" programs list.

Yes, LaunchNet7.exe, net7proxy.exe and client.exe would definitely need permission to run and bypass such rules or you'd need to open appropriate ports if you're concerned about security or something. Recommendation is bypass because I don't have a complete port list handy.

I just had an Epiphany ,  Check the IP address in your launcher in my opinion  its way to high  check to see if there is a lower one list in the box  if there is select it,  Mine read 192.168.1.xx,   your shows on the screen shot 192.168.56.1  yours does not look right.

That depends on how his router/switch/network is set up, Woodstock. The typical default for a Cisco/Linksys home router would be more like 192.168.0.1, but it varies by manufacturer. That's just an internal network IP address. If you know what you're doing you can take it up to a class A and start with something like 10.xxx.xxx.xxx although most home users have no need for crazy swaths of IPs like that. The block in question is allowing up to 254 IP addresses to be assigned anywhere between 0-255 minus the 0 or the 255 as they are special ports reserved for network purposes.

192.168.56.1 - 192.168.56.254

To the new player:

What happens when you do a ping against:

sunrise.net-7.org, do you get a response? Is it 100% successful?

patch.net-7.org, do you get a response? Is it 100% successful?

How about with an nslookup against the namespaces, what IP addresses are returned?

there is no other way to launch enb but to use net7 launcher. find or reinstall net7 launcher.

which program did you run to get into enb and saw that error message?

I ran in to this issue today. Checking my IP on the launcher as Woodstock suggested resolved this for me.

Mine was set to something entirely different than what It normally was. I never thought to look at that IP on the launcher.

It had occurred after I installed a VPN client and a dhcp address was assigned.

Changed the IP setting to my PC IP and all is well.
